| Travlr (48), Washington, Washington DC | | July 25, 2009 Great place to see live music, small theater setting with some good shows. Surprisingly good beer selection for a place of its kind, but come here for the music, not the beer. | | efrumtheidiot (10), Maryland | | May 3, 2009 saw ratatat here in april 2009. show was great! the bar was a nice little surprise, as they have quite a good selection for this type of place. they have at least 10 brews on tap. the weird thing is that a pint of old rasputin costs the same as a pint of yuengling (granted, you’re getting about 4oz less in the cup they serve the Old Rasputin in, but really, $7 for an Old Rasputin on tap is a good price. $7 for yueng is not!). obviously, you don’t come here for the brew, you come for the show, but at least know they have some good brews for you to enjoy while you rock out! | | gsmitty80 (41), Washington DC | | February 4, 2009 This is a great concert venue first and foremost. With that being said, you are going to pay an exuberant amount of money for beer. The selection, however, is remarkably good. | | KUEric (79), Chevy Chase, Maryland | | January 10, 2009 For a world class concert venue, this is a world class beer list. Do I mean its a world class beer list? No, but considering the venue and who all comes through, it’s impressive.
| | can8ianben (69), Pasadena, California | | May 16, 2008 I remember a small but impressively different range of beers on tap. The cost is high, but not too bad for a concert venue. | | JoeinUccle (138), Brussels, Belgium | | May 14, 2008 Hmmm, tough one. Great selection for a concert venue. But it is a concert venue, and that means it’s a shitty place to enjoy beer. Also expensive. But you don’t come here just to drink beer. You come here to see a band you love, otherwise you wouldn’t put up with the place at all. The good beers are a bonus. | | swoopjones (115), Buffalo, New York | | March 19, 2007 came here for a thievery corporation show. Great concert hall with a great draft selection. Old Rasputin, DFH to name a few. Good place. Why can’t Buffalo have a place like this? | kgdcclaret (2), Washington, Washington DC does not count - explanation | | August 14, 2006 As concert venues go, this place is great. As beer selections at concert venues go, the 9:30 has very few, if any, equals. There’s regional (Clipper City n Dogfish Head) and international (Boddingtons n Leffe) brews and usually enough places to sit down and enjoy yr beer. | | jde123 (58), Washington, Washington DC | | March 22, 2006 Definately the greatest music venue in the D.C. area, and probably the best venue I have ever been. The beer selection is quite decent as well. I ordered several dogfish head drafts, which is more than I can say about most of the smaller music venues I have visited. A nice place, nice beer selection, great music (provided you like the band you bought the tickets for, and I guess that is a given, since you did purchase the tickets to see the band). Overall, a nice place for a good beer while listening to good music, plus they have many vegetarian options for food! | murawski (7), does not count - explanation | | December 13, 2005 I’m not even sure why 9:30 Club has been rated on RateBeer.com -- it has some of the worst beer I’ve ever had. Poor selection, poor quality, and it’s all watered down and skunky. Please do not insult RateBeer.com and beerdrinkers across DC. |
