This has to be the best craft beer restaurant in the whole of Africa. Great people, great vibe, great food and even better beer. What a selection - Rogue, CBC, Bad Dog, BrewDog, Boston, Duvel & more. Greg needs a medal for bringing us this place. Thanks to Rate Beer for helping me find it, my time in S.A. wouldn’t have been anywhere near as enjoyable without Banana Jam Cafe.
Excellent vibe and a great place to enjoy a pint. You never know what might be on tap, but you know there will be plenty to choose from. Great place to sit and discuss different beers with beer lovers.

Best place in Africa, pretty much. The selection is fairly extensive for the country, and they do a good job getting beers that otherwise are impossible to find. The vibe is great and so is the food. We bought a jar of jerk sauce to take home. Good stuff, and a must stop in Cape Town. Walkable from the Kenilworth train, if you’re so inclined.

Nice place. Went there in the afternoon, so wouldn’t know about the ambiance, but it seems a really nice place! Service is ok, but was bit dissapointed in the selection of beers...
Friendly, laid-back Caribbean restaurant/beer bar with large leafy patio. The best selection in all the land. If you ask any South African where to go for beer, he or she will direct you here. The selection is as good as it gets in these parts--with only local micros on tap and bottle. It's out of the downtown core but seems easy accessible on suburban train.
