Cherusker Cervecería Alemana - Quito

Packed with crowds at a Saturday night, the place has certainly a good reputation, and deservingly. The atmosphere is jolly, the spatious rooms, a patio plus a romantic two-seat balcony offer nice hide-outs and the beers, dominantly in German tradition, are all very well done. Nice to meet alt and koelsch that far from their native cities.

Multi story brewpub with a big outdoor patio and seats everywhere inside, cheesy beer paraphernalia everywhere, and an old school school chain brewpub vibe. The place was packed on a Saturday night by 8pm, and the service was a little swamped, but they were friendly and enthusiastic about beer. Selection was limited to German styles, but all six I tried were well done, with no flaws, rare in Ecuador. Food was a tad mediocre, seemed like frozen and phoning it in; the guacamole definitely tasted processed and premade. Fun place though, and some of the better beer I tried on the trip.

This place has good prices, beer and food. The beers are not good at all, they are good if you want to get drunk with something cheap. They don´t focus on quality beer, you will get a hefeweizen that taste like a pale ale, a red flat beer, etc. The food is basically junk food, that you can walk a block and pay a dollar, and the service is terrible, if you ask for a chair they will tell you to find yourself one, that this is not their job. They put a lot of reggaeton, reggae, bachata, etc. A good place if you are short of money and/or dont give a damn about quality.

A pleasant brewpub in the busy, nightlife area of Quito, which brews several of its own beers. Its beer was solid, and pretty good for Ecuador, but comes up short in comparison to international competition. The bar has a nice ambiance, with a pleasant, covered outdoor seating area, and the service was friendly and attentive. The value is good for quality beer in Ecuador, but the selection is limited to the six or so beers they have on tap. I did not try the food.
