2016-05-29. It’s pretty clear upon walking in the front door that this place is something special. The decor is amazeballs - with kitschy Star Wars and taxidermy everywhere (They are in the market for a stuffed beaver if you have one available! Or was it a raccoon, I can’t remember.) and fun posters from past events. The staff were super friendly, the bartenders and an off duty guy were both chatting with us about the beer and the bar, and what not. The tap list is just okay today (good mix of NZ craft beer, but nothing particularly great) but a solid bottle list adds to the selection. Pizzas ordered in from a neighbour are popular food option - Our pizza was decent but just okay (the crust was not my favorite). Prices for food and drink were pretty reasonable by NZ standards. A must visit just for the experience if not the beer.

Quite a noisy little bar (on a Saturday night) tucked away just round from Cuba Mall in the city’s centre. A solid if unexciting tap line-up and a handful of more exotic bottled offerings can be found. Relatively spacious with ample, comfortable seating. Friendly staff, modest pricing and generally accommodating if a bit loud on my only visit. It’s sartorial influences are obvious and plenty and, for all that and more, it’s a worthy stop for a drink.

Great place. Rather eclectic decor m- trying to be cool and in part succeeding, and in part being odd and kitsch. Part industrial, part beach taverna, part ski lodge, part local bar. Comfortable and interesting. Very friendly staff. Didn’t try the food. Fairly small range on tap (~7) and some selection of bottles. Well worth a visit.

Great vibe and good selection of beer and food make this a must when visiting Wellington. Even more enjoyable when hosting some live music - they get some of the best in town.

Small place tucked away on a dead end alley near Cuba Street. Staff is very welcoming and knowledgeable. Tap list is solid, and the handful of bottles had a few surprises, including an Aussie sour. Tasty pizza. Worthwhile stop.

I met my esteemed colleague Brian Eerwriter here for a pint along with Atilla the Wife. A bit of a kooky location up an alley that you’d usually expect people to be murdered in. Cool, darkish, rustic ambience abounds but not unwelcoming. Selection seemed good with some intriguing beers at a price that seemed on the slightly higher side of reasonable. Worth a return visit? Yes.

Another great addition to Wellington’s dizzying number of awesome beer drinking establishments. This brand spankin’ new bar is tucked away down an alley and is on the ground floor of an apartment building. Not a bad local to have for those tenants. Seven taps of hefty drinking US micros and of course, local as well. A good session ale or two in the mix as well thankfully. Cheerful bunch of folks here, both sides of the bar. Keen to pop in again next time I’m in town.
