The board on the wall was outstanding. If i lived in Bergen, this would be my go to bar :) | 88 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 linnserenne (2) , Norway | January 15, 2013 Great staff, who have a great deal of knowledge about beer. 48 beers on tap, another 200 on bottle, what more can a girl ask for?
Simply fantastic, and a must-see if ever in Bergen! | 86 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 Ozzak (2) BERGEN, Norway | October 15, 2012 Great pub with great selection of beers. Especially on tap. Frequently something new and exciting from one or more of the leading craft breweries in Norway.
Good range in beers as well.
Be sure to drop by if you are in Bergen. | 82 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 Rune (319) Tromsø, Norway | October 3, 2012 It was great to return three years later and see that Henrik is expanding further when it comes to beer selection. 44 operating taps should very well be best of its kind in Norway. Just great (visited three days in a row in September 2012)
The bar can be found on the first floor of a very central located building. Medium sized quadrangular room with sparse decor on the walls. Almost full range of bottle ales from Nøgne Ø - and with Nøgne Ø Imperial Stout on tap when I visited the bar on 18th June 09. Connected to the informal Nøgne Ø chain, they also have Mikkeller beers and some quality ales from USA, supported by good stuff from Haandbryggeriet and other Norwegian micros. I visited the place both in the afternoon and later the same evening and it seemed to be very popular, meant for drinking and talking. Friendly service. Believed to be the best place for beer enjoyment in Bergen. | 88 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 14/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 18/20 mansquito (56) Nueva York, New York | August 12, 2012 Although the ambiance in this jawn is pretty much non-existent, I still very much liked it. Why? The tap selection was superb. There were probably 8 Nogne O and 8 Mikkeller beers on tap, along with a number of beers by Beer Here, Lervig, Sogaard, and Aegir. I really like it when bars choose to have a number of beers from a brewery on tap. I don’t really care much for bottles at beer bars, so I didn’t really look at those, but I had plenty enough to choose from the tap, so that wasn’t an issue. My mother had a Cantilon lambic. I spent two nights in a row here, which I can’t say for many bars. The bartender was friendly and immediately was able to gauge my tastes. Downside is that they actually don’t serve any food. | 86 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 17/20 vipinvelp (90) Velp, Netherlands | June 11, 2012 Great selection, 44 on tap and 10 more to be added soon. Also nice selction of omported bottles. Pitty I did not have more time to spent or visit again. Atmosphere is not lively, bar has no decoratin at all. Its just the beer and that is what counts. | 94 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 15/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 18/20 Panthoney (1) , Australia | May 23, 2012 Phenomenal beer selection - the best I’ve seen in terms of a wide range of top end craft beers. The barman was kind enough to give me a tour of his cellar which was really impressive. The prices are fine for Norway.
Tip: don’t try to engage the barman in ’beer nerd’ talk when the bar is busy on a Friday night. He seems to warm more to jovial conversation rather than answering questions that should be directed at the brewers.
| 80 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 9/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 15/20 aleph (24) , | April 5, 2012 Impressive 44 taps, a whole line of Nøgne ø and Mikkeller, decent bottles. Really liked that the ambiance is left to the customers to create (i.e. no music), as you can have a decent conversation without feeling exposed. Can’t hold the ridiculous prices against the place since it’s Norway. Definitely the best beer spot I’ve been to in the country, so when in Bergen... | 94 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 19/20 Nyre (3) , | March 30, 2012 Best beer pub in Norway that I have been to. Knowledgeable and serviceable staff. Not very pricey for a Norwegian pub. Relaxed ambiance with no music (at all, ever). The pub itself is not too big, still roomy enough. Also, it has a small outdoor patio with a few tables for smokers where you can bring your drink. They do some import on their own, giving them a selection of beers hard or impossible to find elsewhere in Norway. Recently the first pub in Bergen to have its own exclusive beer, the Henrik Imperial Amber (brewed by Lervig) - let’s hope there will be more. |
