70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 9/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 12/20
This place looks small at first, but it’s really long and narrow, so it fits quite a lot of people. We sat at the tiny bar near the entrance and were entertained by the bartender mixing an amazing variety of cocktails, and he was kind enough to pour some palinkas for us, including one homemade one. Beer list had decent variety, and kept us busy for a while. Food looked tasty as it went by, but we had just eaten. Fun place.

60 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 12/20
Nicely arranged place in a basement of one of many deteriorated buildings. Decent, but not great selection of local beers, as my friends pointed them out. Prices are higher than in other places we’ve seen in the town. There are separated rooms for smokers and non-smokers. Seemed like a nice semi-alternative spot for going out at the evening.

60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 8/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 12/20
Nice enough basement spot that had an interesting selection of beers (as my mate Marko says .. the awful Ciuc Nefiltrat, a pair of Bodenwohrer and the two local standouts from Clinica). Didn’t try anything off the menu but it seemed alright. Prices were a touch higher than other places we saw.
Ambience was pretty relaxed and very western pub themed (golf, poker, etc). Right in center, worthy enough of visit in a town that doesn’t seem to have much that is better.

Not even a minute’s walk from Placa Unirii, I picked this one to go to as it seemed to have the most interesting site from all the bars on Clinica’s website. They carry Clinica’s beers (yay!), random easy to get local foreign and local beers, 2 Bodenwöhrer beers and there’s unfiltered Ciuc on tap. A slightly dark basement place, nicely decorated. They have a good selection of food, which we skipped (stuffed as we were from the lunch at the brewery restaurant). Obviously, we ordered the Bodenwöhrers and the Ciuc, having had the Clinicas at the brewery shop (would’ve had them again here if we didn’t have to go away relatively fast). The Bodenwöhrer Hell was past its best-by date (by a week), but in ok shape, Ciuc looked to suffer just slightly from unclean lines (but it might be that the beer isn’t that great to begin with). The Hefe was ok. The general consensus was that the place’s cool though. Good service.
