54 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 3/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 martinboer (4) Amsterdam, Netherlands | January 7, 2009 August 23, 2006 [ Updated October 15, 2006 ]
Used to go here all the time when I lived in Windhoek for two years. The meat is 100%, best I’ve ever had and oh so cheap. The beer is mainly Hansa draft, based on German purity laws, and comes in ice cold mugs. Excellent. From what I recall they also serve Windhoek Lager. This is a must for visitors and expats alike. (And there are tons of other bars by the way, this is just the one that the tourists - and their coaches - end up at.) | 70 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 9/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 17/20 Cu6a (1) , Namibia | March 29, 2008 Great place, especially with all the random objects and artifacts to be seen about the place. We go there almost everytime we go out. The food is great, although a bit pricy for the locals with a tight bduget. Not the vastest selection of beer, but hey, they serve the best Hansa Draught in Windhoek, who needs more? Got to love the glasses they take out of the freezer. If you visit Namibia Joe’s is a must. Damn I miss the place, | 54 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 3/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE N/A OVERALL 13/20 altonbrownd (199) Brussels, Belgium | August 23, 2006| Updated October 15, 2006 Used to go here all the time when I lived in Windhoek for two years. The only beer-related stop in Namibia that I know of. Located 10 mins from downtown Windhoek by cab or car. Open 5p till "late" most nights. Worth a look mostly for its odd decor (see their website) and a taste of the local beer scene - which is rather German. Enjoy. |
