Wow, what a place. The firts time you enter this church, you will be flabbergasted! The view of the 2 brew kettles is stunning. Find tyourself a place and tast several beers (they have actually small tasting glasses) before yout try the beer/food pairings in the restaurant. Not just the standard breweryfood, but sophisticated dishes.

Excellent pub which is located in an old church in which they also brew the famous Jopenbeer. It’s a need and tidy place with great ambiance and you are sitting amongst the brew-cattle’s.

Nice location in the centre of Haarlem. The whole thing is located in a church as the name already suggests. Really nice atmosphere, good staff. About 12 own beers on tap and one guest tap. Didn’t had a meal there, but just some cheese and saaucages. Bit expensive.

Beautiful old church renovated into a large brewpub. Lovely interior (except for the carpets on the ceiling). Spacious, big bunk-tables. A lot of their own beers on tap, which is exactly what you want in a brewpub. Food is a bit pricy: a couple of pieces of mediocre cheese or sausage cost 6.50 euro, that’s a whole lot of cash. Atmosphere was great, people of various standards and ages around. Quick service, we did not have to wave around to grab the attention of servants. That’s a rarity these days in Holland, so bonuspoints for that.

I do like the beers they brew. Nevertheless I do not like this place, ok its worth a visit. And it’s good to have a drink or two, but do not eat here. Sorry no really, unless you want to empty your wallet and let that spoil your visit. Staff does not really have any beer knowledge, just the standaard brochure info about the jopen beers is drilled into their, pretty blond, heads. They have little or no clue about food pairing, arguments like "we paired this beer cause we have not been able to pair it with any of our other dishes and we didn’t want it to feel left out" are cute...but not reallt usefull. Been here twice, and probably won’t be coming back foodwise. But will come back for a nice Jopen beer however.

The brewery, restaurant, pub, bar, tasting room are all inside a renovated/refurbished old church. Excellent atmosphere, visitors of all ages and gender coming together to enjoy great awarded beers. Michael Jackson (the English beer legend) spoke highly of Jopen beers. Food also on high level. Especially Friday and Saturday evenings are fully loaded with people. Jopen beers is poured during lot’s of Dutch beer festivals, like the yearly Bock Beer Fetsival in Amsterdam. Last year 1st price with their Jopen Bockbeer.

Great ambiance. An old church converted into a brewery. Jopen is a great old brewery that brews decent beers and has a great sense of their own history. This place is packed even though it was huge. Great selection of brews with some guest taps.

All Jopen beers available, including some rotating guest brews from well known Dutch micro’s. Noisy. Poor service. Still worth a visit. The brewpub is beautiful and the beers are good enough.

Not to my liking: modern, spacious, brash, noisy and aimed at young people. The Jopen beers are ok but not great and there are much nicer places in Haarlem to try them.

Some of the food is prepared with beer from this brewery. They give their guests advise which beers do combine well with their meals (a ’culicombi’). Impressive interior, especially the restaurant area upstairs with the tapestries.
