50 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 4/10 SELECTION 6/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE 5/10 OVERALL 12/20 Iphonephan (77) Virginia | September 25, 2012 The beers on draft were not particularly intersting and a lot of boring beers in the bottle list too. Still all but the most jaded should find something new to try. Outdoor seating was pleasant, inside dark. Service pretty slow, even by French standards. | 76 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE N/A OVERALL 16/20 bhensonb (405) Woodland, California | September 18, 2012 It’s a nice little place not too far from Au Trappiste. A great place to sit down after walking all over Paris. If you sit on the outside, it’s a pretty good place to people watch. | 50 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 7/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 8/20 ogivlado (270) Zagreb, Croatia | September 16, 2012 Nice patio outside but pretty dark inside. Just 6-7 common beers on tap plus ordinary bottled selection but not even close to 150. Hinano might be interesting for someone but other than that not much to write. | 60 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 10/20 YULbier (250) Montreal, | August 24, 2012 Servers are efficient but totally ignorant about beer. Beer menu is extensive but lot of bottles are not in stock. You can still end up a a good and not-so-common beer, but it is kind of a complex operation. | 64 AMBIANCE 3/5 SERVICE 6/10 SELECTION 10/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 6/10 OVERALL 13/20 Scopey (271) Croydon, England | June 10, 2012 Visited on a Friday post-work. We sat outside and never ventured in. Atmosphere and service were both fairly standard, but they did have a decent amount of outdoor seating, which is nice on a summer evening. Bottle selection is pretty decent and way above average for Paris. Good selection of Belgian beers. I came here for the French beer and opted for a La Choulette Ambree after being told that they were out of stock of Mont des Cats. A worthy stop in Paris, especially considering that its a short walk from La Cave à Bulles. | 82 AMBIANCE 5/5 SERVICE 8/10 SELECTION 11/15 FOOD N/A VALUE 9/10 OVERALL 17/20 Arve_Christian (114) Oslo, Norway | March 16, 2012 Nice small friendly place. Very good selection of french speciality beer, including Paris own craft beer.
The service is ok, if you remember tahjt you are in Paris.. | 30 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 1/10 SELECTION 4/15 FOOD 2/10 VALUE 2/10 OVERALL 8/20 ceciledelth (10) | December 17, 2011 Not a real beer bar... a very short and classic selection. they don’t know about beers! | 44 AMBIANCE 2/5 SERVICE 5/10 SELECTION 5/15 FOOD 4/10 VALUE 7/10 OVERALL 10/20 ladnewton (144) London, England | November 21, 2011 Visited 19th November while in Paris on a short stay. General atmosphere dark and noisy sports bar. Beers on this visit were mainly big names that you would fairly easily find elsewhere. (I say this, but might have been unlucky on the day itself, as the beer range is said to change). I also found myself a little unlucky with the food (Moules-frites). Nothing wrong with the mussels themselves but chips tepid at time of service and ice cold halfway through meal - staff said in as many words there was nothing they could do. However in manners they were friendly enough.
This venue is best visited in the daytime when it is quieter and you can get a decent seat - but vist here first and Au Trappiste second to notice the "upgrade" feel! I will be happy enough to upscale my rating if I have a better experience on a future visit. | 90 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 10/10 SELECTION 13/15 FOOD 10/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 18/20 davidm (52) Melbourne, Australia | November 11, 2011 Great place, I had a lot of fun! Large selection of French micros, and very interesting Belgian choices too. The staff was great, and the mussels with chips were excellent. | 70 AMBIANCE 4/5 SERVICE 7/10 SELECTION 12/15 FOOD 8/10 VALUE 8/10 OVERALL 12/20 goatboy (42) Vancouver, British Columbia | October 3, 2011 I liked this place, had a big beer list 5 pages with lots of unique french beers, lots of Belgian and German brews. I had a La Choulette Ambree that was quite tasty, the food was great with a giant helping of Fries and Mussels, good value all around, service was good on the patio, staff don’t know their Drinks/Beer in depth. still a good experience and a good place to go for that area, Au Trappiste would be better and just a few blocks away, you cant go wrong with either place. |
