Medium-sized brewpub with a minimalistic, modern and slightly industrial style. I think they had about twenty beers on tap, most of them by their own, but also a handful of guests. All the standards were available, but also a lot of specials, even some that have already aged. They can be ordered in 20, 25 and 50 cl, and a tasting flight of four beers can be ordered as well. Usually, it contains only some of the standards, but you might be lucky if you ask for some changes. Prices are just okay, and the staff appeared to be very friendly and was making me feel welcome. Snacks and some more sophisticated food is also available, can be quite expensive though. Other than that, I can only recommend to come here if you are in town!
Visited on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. Located in a suburb of Utrecht, not the most inspiring location but somehow you donít notice when you sit on their sunny patio. Inside is relatively spacious, not enormous. Lots of wood, brewing stuff and some equipment visible, large bar. Itís all nicely decorated, it breathes beer & brewing. Friendly staff, decent prices. They sell sample trays for Ä10 (4 samples). Beers are decent, but alas not something to go out of your way for. However, when in the area, make sure to visit this place.
Visited on my way to Bodegraven, somewhat hidden behind a lrage building to the right if you drive up the parkinglot. Could buy a sixpack of different beers, prices both on tap and sixpack where decent. service was friendly. ok place to visit if you are in the area.

They have a wide selection of Maximus beers on tap, but that is all they have. The "proeverijtje" is a nice feature: you can taste 4 tap beers for 10 euroís. The location and service are just fine. When we were there (sunday afternoon) it was crowded with children though and very noisy. Nice place to go when youíre around, but not worth the visit from the city center.
Maximus has some pretty decent beers and this is a nice (fairly large) brewpub, actually one of the largest Iíve seen in the Netherlands. On the outskirts of Utrecht, a 15 min bus ride from central station. Well worth a visit. Good food too.
An oasis of excellence in a neighborhood that otherwise represents the death of the soul. Looks like a shed from the outside, but it gets better when you go inside with the brew kettles all out in the open. Cafe has a nice rough look to it and they have a spacious beer garden outside. Service was okay. Selection was limited to beers from this brewery only, but hereís an opportunity to drink some of Maximusí excellent brews from draft. I was also able to drink some more exclusive beers I hadnít had yet. Recommended.
Been there several times. It is a nice place, has good beers on tap, friendly staff. Their Highhops on tap is excellent. They have bottles for take away. Place is relative new, but they have their installation up and running now. When in Utrecht, this place is a must. You can reach it best by bus.
Compelled to write a review because the few previous ones didnít generate a high enough score/rating/impression. This is seriously one of the best breweries in the Netherlands. They take the best influences of American and 21st century craft breweries and pubs but keep it modern Dutch. IMO, High Hops is the best IPA in Holland. Stouts 6 and 8 are pitch perfect. And the Imperial Saison is dang tasty, plus it exemplifies one of the best aspects of the brewery: they donít only have one house yeast and itís not a boring Belgian strain. With as many house beers as they offer, a good amount of seating inside and, if the weatherís nice, tons and tons of space for sitting on the lawn outside, this is a must. (And I didnít even try any food except some cheese which was outstanding. If youíre in Utrecht, taking the bus out here is a must. If youíre a beer lover visiting Amsterdam, itís worth trying to squeeze into your trip.
