50 Not much to add here, it’s a supermarket in the mall frequented mainly by expats. Concentrated selection of local beers and a handful of macro stuff from a few European countries and sometimes Russia, depending on when you visit and what their stock is like. Don’t expect beer knowledge from the staff, but that’s no different than most supermarkets. |
50 As said by sebletitje is is just a normal beer store. It has all of the local beers and some international ones. There are even more beers at the Game discount shop. |
60 Shoprite is one of South Africa’s main supermarket brand, and this one is located inside Ghana’s only mall.
Shoprite has a wide variety of beers, and pretty much everything you can find in Ghana plus many imports ranging from Russian to Danish and Dutch. All are kept in ’working’ coolers. Somehow most are malt liquor or non-alcohol beers plus one or two South African ciders. Not a beer mecca by any means but for Ghana it’s a great sample of all that it offers.
Value is great, beer is cheap in Ghana which can make up for some of the boring beers they have.
The mall in itself is nice to visit, again with many expats shopping there and the place definitely has more of an upscale and trendy feel. Still worth a stop for a beer, grab a bite to eat in one of the many fast-food/restaurants in the mall. |
