Stopped on the way out of Munich (relative close to the city centre). We didnít take the tour, just the shop and we had a beer outside. The shop is nice, recommended. Some special releases available. Value is ok, as is the service.

Stiegelís Brauwelt is a good place to go. Aside from excursion, museum & very good shop - there is a restaurant that serves all their taps including fantastic (and mostly experimental) seasonals. Actually those seasonals are the major reson to come here as they are really that good.

This is a must stop on any Austria beer trip...or if anywhere near Munich. Visited here a couple of weeks ago on an amazing 6 country central Europe beer trip. This is definitely the best place in Salzburg. The layout is very nice with multiple rooms and outside seating. The food is really pretty good for a brewery. I made a flight of most of their beers with .3L pours (they donít have US style flights in many European places I found...which led to a lot of waste if you wanted to taste many styles). I also loved the bar area with cold cases of many craft beers...even some from the US. I bought a few to travel with me. Also, checkout the "beer safe" in the same room. All & all...as I said... a must stop while in the area.

I didnít make the tour so I can only comment on the different rooms for eating and the brewery shop. Really big location with differently arranged rooms and a nice beer garden, where you can eat and drink all Stiegl beers from tap. All very traditional, the interior, the atmosphere and the food. The food is very good and quite affordable, the staff is friendly and helpful. They also have the current Stiegl Hausbier from tap, which is always really interesting and much better than most of their standard beers. There is also a seperate room now, where you can do guided tastings of international craft beer. I didnít attend that, but you can have a look at the fridge, where they have loads of trappist ales, craft breweries like BrewDog or Nogne ō and also currently discontinued Stiegl beers like their Double IPA. The brewery shop is also worth a visit, where you get loads of memorabilias and all of their currently available beers. Overall, this is a must visit in Salzburg, even if you donít do the tour.

You nee to get the full package to really appreciate it. The museum is huge and very interesting. With your ticket you get some coupons to get free 0.2l samples, three of them, in the Braustubl. They have a Hausbier which changes, but they somestimes make an íAmericaní style. a Must for any beerlover.

This place is located directly at Salzburgís oldest and largest brewery: Stiegl. It consists of a brewery museum, a brew-shop, a restaurant and a Braeustuebel. The brewery is very beautiful and all these places are set up very professionally. Stiegl has become very innovative over the last 5 years and has added many special beers to its sortiment. They can combine very well being a large brewery with producing and selling big outputs and brewing new innovative beers. The tradition is always the main topic (brewery was founded 1492 - even the phone number includes these numbers). The Braeustuebel is a large room with great atmosphere. They serve the traditional Stiegl beers as the Maerzen, the Pils or the Weissbier but also have a monthly changing special beer (Alt, Fastenbier, special Weissbiere,...). In bottle you can buy the newly created IPA, which is quite good. Food is very good too. Also visit the shop and the museum. Best beer place in Salzburg.
