For a lover of world class beers, the Asia Pacific region has been bleak, although improving. Taps is head and shoulders above anything in Singapore or, to my experience, elsewhere in this region. Fourteen constantly rotating tap from breweries like Mikkeller, Nogne O, and Thornbridge, complimented by a solid bottle line-up. The few good beers I can find elsewhere, like Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen, cost quite a bit less here. For KL, a bargain, although very expensive by Western standards.
The food I’ve had is just ok, but good enough make coming here a great experience. If you love good beer and are in KL, Taps is a must. It’s usually pretty empty, so it needs your support.

Modern American style beer bar. Would be pretty decent most places, amazing for SE Asia.

Huge props to this place it was fantastic. Live music. A modern, but not unwelcoming decor. Went on its first anniversary so they were giving finger food away and it was pretty good but I didn’t get to try the regular food besides basic pizzas and they were the best I had in KL. Beer is pricey, but beer in Malaysia is. Selection was great. Only bar I found in KL that cared about serving good beer.

Sterile locale, but nice and quiet. It is all about the beer selection, which extraordinary for Malaysia. Craftsbeers from all corners of the world. Being a Noggie expat, I was bit disappointed that their Nøgne Ø order was stuck in customs at the time of my visit. Had to settle for Danish Mikkeller as Scandinavian substitute, but a lot of other options available. One week’s selection may be quite different from the next. Pricey, but for a beer geek, definitely worth it.

what a fantastic place.. food was very good, great service and very cool place. was pretty shokked to se how good their selection was given this being in malaysia.. 20 taps, some great from australia, mountain goat etc.. rogue ales and more good looking taps.. bottles included lot from mikkeller, brewdog, some austrailians, belgian (st, bernardeus) and some more... so glad i skipped all sightseeing in kuala lumpur and went to this bar instead ;) highly reccommended

Taps Beer Bar is a short and steamy ten minute zig zag walk from Rajah Chulan monorail station, and how nice it is to wander in from the heat to find such a cool beer menu! I started with the Kipling South Pacific Pale Ale from England’s Thornbridge Brewery. At 5.2%, it was a light gold coloured extra-hoppy air conditioner in a glass! The Tap list on this day (it was dated October 8, so I am guessing that it is updated quite often) was loaded with unknowns to me: Mornington Peninsula Porter from Austrailia, Brewdog IPA, Mr. Sno’balls Harviestoun and Lia Fail Inveralmond from Scotland, and a Meantime Brewery IPA to go with my Kipling from England. There were also bottles featured from Denmark’s Mikkellen, plus a lot more bottles from Scotland. All draft beers come in 430ml glasses. At 25 to 31 MR a shot (about $8 to 10 US dollars), I’m looking at this as a sort of beer-sipping establishment at the other end of the quantity scale from, of, say Bavaria! Coming to terms with the small size servings here, I’ve lost all credibility by ordering Mr. Sno’balls. They have officially run out of names for bitters in Scotland. It came in at 4.5%, a dark and sweet beer that really grew on me with each sip. I was up for one more beer, and I returned to Thornbridge for their Jaipur, a medium-gold IPA of 5.9%. This was my favourite of the three. Moderately heavy on the hops, fun to drink, especially once the in-house guitar player started up. Good service, nice modernist room, it is a unique KL beer bar and well worth a visit.

Great place. Fell in love with BreDog. Good service. Can sample each beer before buying your glass. Live music in the background by 3 locals capped the fantastic experience. Will be back again soon. Thanks!

Probably the best beer bar in Asia with a great rotating selection from USA, Europe and Australia. Rogue, brewdog and Mikkeller are all well represented.
What makes this place a real star is you have to remember that Malaysia is an Islamic country with no beer culture at all! These guys are decades ahead of anything else in town!

The only craft beer bar in KL. Good selection of well kept beers which must be hard in this climate. Not too expensive either when you consider the price of a Tiger. Good food and wi-fi too. A "must visit" for any beer enthusiast in the city. It’s like an oasis in the desert!
