A very short stumble from Labietis brewpub, meaning you get two for the price of one when it comes to the 30-minute stroll here from the Old Town. Good selection of beers, mostly from the Valmiermuiza brewery. The Abula was particularly good. Staff are fairly helpful and informative but too cool to bother thanking people who tip them (which I suppose at least saves the need to tip them on the next round). The whole place has a bit of a ‘too cool for school’ vibe: it was the most hipster places we went to in Riga, but I suppose some people like that sort of thing. Will certainly be back.

Decent beer shop mostly representing Valmiermuiža range, with some bonus Latvian beers

Nice hip place with a lot of Valmiermuiza beers and some micro brews in bottles. However the bartender was not informed about the beers at all. "Would you like a light or dark beer?". Thankfully he let me explore the bottles in the fridge behind the bar myself.

Located in the same recently renovated warehouse complex as the Labietis brewpub, worth the tram ride to visit both. Serves light, dark and seasonal beers both filtered and unfiltered, which was fun. More unusual was the piping hot sweetened beer. Restaurant is a modern hipster foodie type place that would fit in any US college town, and I mean that in the best possible way! Very tasty food, small portions but with small prices to match. Excellent service. Next door is a place to get all the same beers in takeaway bottles, plus a goofy giftshop.

Full selection of Valmiermuiza beers. Plus some other classic latvian micros as well. Worth to visit if you are in hurry and don’t want to spend your time in traffic jams in center.

Ooops, went here after the beer festival...
It’s a very nice shop, clean and classic brick interior, plenty of space for staggering around. Great to see pretty much the full valmiermuiza range. Got a couple of decent rerates here (had just had one as a tick at the festival, but 150ml isn’t enough for a proper rating of a good beer, and another that was always served sour elsewhere, but it was fresh here). Staff were friendly enough not to kick me out, and understood drunken English well enough to serve me the beers I wanted - cheers! As I’m coming back to the pub next door, I shall stick my head in here again too (and probably get more old favourites, as they are so fresh).

Really nice place! Cozy cafe feel with a nice beer selection. Six Valmiermuiža on tap and one limited edition only on bottle. Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Just a short tram ride (quite walkable too) from the city center and well worth a visit. Nice food and a great store next door to pick up bottles and food for taking away.

Lovely little place just off Krisjana Valdemara iela street north of old town. It’s a combined shop and cafe where I saw students doing homework on a neighbor table while customers came in to buy cheese or Valmiermuiza beer at the counter. They had nine taps all told, four of their own (Valmiermuiza) beer, two Brengulis (dark + light), a fruit beer and kvass. The food was also excellent, made with Latvian ingredients only and the service top notch. A very pleasant place to enjoy some high quality Latvian beer and food,

A modern-looking shop and café belonging to the Valmiermuiža brewery. Sells their own beers, plus Latvian cheese, sausage, and cakes made from spent malt grains from the brewery. Very stylish and pleasant, and excellent service. They do serve dinner, but I didn’t try it. Kind of difficult to find. It’s not on the street. Instead, a parking lot kind of opens from the street, and you walk into it, and the place is one of many in a bigger complex at the back.
