I’m surprised this place isn’t rated higher. The selection is awesome with decent prices. Acland are known in Melbourne as the place that gets beer that no one else does, I saw some Dogfish Head and even Lost Abbey which is surprising. The lady behind the counter was nice and knew her beer. Unfortunately, I couldn’t buy much but Ill go there next time I’m in Melbourne for sure.

Equal best range in Melbourne along with Purvis. Slightly cheaper for some beers. Best place to come for Sierra Nevada beers.

Seems to have changed a bit recently. Used to focus range alot on euro beers, now they have some great US stuff, however you need to be careful as an ipa i got was 1 year old! Don’t really have much in the way of local craft, which is a bit disappointing. Service is ok, friendly but dont seem to know a whole lot about the range. Pricing isn’t too bad but a little high. Wouldn’t go out of my to shop there but a pleasant surprise if in the area.

This used to be a dump with a largish selection of unfamiliar beers that had been sitting there for who knows how long. Things have improved. It’s encouraging although still slightly annoying when a place has clearly just run out of several interesting beers - to me it means that some effort is being made to avoid languishing stock. I didn’t count, but they certainly have at least 300 beers. The selection of Australian micros is weaker than Belgian and Brits. Advice is available, but they don’t hover or badger. Any regular patrons might add some information to the "Available at this location" list - it would be nice to walk in with a few ideas about obscure Belgians rather than entirely trust the staff for recommendations.

A wall of beer there sure is a lot, and a large amount of stock that I haven’t seen elsewhere. As others have mentioned a huge range of Belgians and other Euro beers and a few Aussie micros though I didn’t see any hard to find brews. I’d definitly stock up here if I lived in the area. A decent beer store no doubt.

Excellent selection of beers from around the world. All staff seem to have an acceptable level of knowledge but not the personal service level that you would like. Around 500 beers to choose from.
