October 18, 2011 Alameda was a bit further out in northeast portland. It’s pretty big with a more rustic feel to it
I went with mostly their IPAs at the time and they were pretty good. They had a solid selection of their own brews.
The food was solid. It was pretty standard pub fare, but pretty decent. Nothing to jump through hoops to get, but I’d certainly have no problem eating here in the future
Alameda was pretty solid overall. Not great, but certainly far from bad. The bartenders were nice and friendly |

August 23, 2011 Nice airy, open brewpub. Alameda has a small sidewalk outdoor seating area which is pleasant however Freemont St. can get quite busy so the sound can be loud. The beer was good although I only tried the El Toreoro Organic IPA. It was a well crafted NW IPA. The $3/pint happy hour was a fair deal. I didn’t really look at the menu so i can’t comment there but the selection and the service were about average for a brew pub. |

November 11, 2010 Had a good pint here but the food I got was pretty bleh. Located in a very cool part of town, if you are in the area definitely stop by. |

October 14, 2010 Some OK beers but I wasn’t too impressed. I did think that the atmosphere was pretty cool. I would include it on a Portland beer tour in you’re hitting breweries east across the river from downtown. |

May 10, 2010 Located in a quaint neighborhood within walking distance to Beaumont Market. Atmosphere is strange but fine, can see all the brewing supplies equipment behind the bar. Had a few of their beers and was surprised at how good the Hefe was at the time. Just got the taquitos but they were swell, good dipping sauce. Worth a stop if you’re in the neighborhood. No complaints but not a must-stop. |

April 27, 2010 First place we went to in Portland. We were there for a late lunch (1pm) and it was fairly dead. Nothing good or bad about the setting. We chose a spot near the street. Service was fine. Nice selection of very drinkable beers. Prices seemed in line. The only thing I would say is that it just does not leave an impression. The beers and food and service were fine, but I just didn’t feel much about the place. Perhaps that is a function of the lunch situation....I have no reason to rate this lower than an 80, I’m just saying that something seemed to be missing. |

January 9, 2010 Like this place! Open yet comfortable. Great place to meet friends since it’s not too loud. Great food. Great beers. |

December 12, 2009 Huge venue. Bar must be over 50 feet long. Good service. Warm, not drafty. 10 beers on the sampler tray. Bottles to go. Beers are good. |

August 26, 2009 Nice little brewpub way up in NE. Interior was nicely considered and decorated. Not too flashy, but not bare at all. Happy hour prices were incredible deals on large plates of really decent food. Service was so so, but it was a packed house with large crowd for people to sit. Their bear fluctuates in quality quite a bit. Their Pale and Black Stout, Organic IPA and Juniper Porter are all slightly above average, where as their Cream and both wheat ales were really below average. But it’s a cool place to check out, and I heard they may open a location downtown and I’ll look forward to that. |

July 9, 2009 This pretty far brewpub was on the hit-list for its excellent Black Bear stout I tried at GABF a couple of years back. I was happy to try their almost as satisfying IPA. On the other hand, it represents a considerable detour in a city where you don’t need to go all that far. Still, there’s a bus stop right in front, so we made it on a saturday night. At 10pm, the 2 of us consisted of 40% of the customers. Depressing. More depressing even are the looks of the place. Ugly and cheap metal walls that reminds of the very old and rusty dull silver campers contaminate the bar area while those ugly designer wooden benches that rise 4 meters in the air look alien. The high ceilings and dark atmosphere are not helping while the staff felt disgusted when we inquired on their closing time and they revealed they had to keep on until midnight. I certainly won’t be back. Good stout, but bottled and good IPA, but plenty of others around town. I simply did not want to stay for a second beer. |
