Highs and Lows. Commercial space, but tons of great beer on tap. Reminds me a bit of Yard House, but with more craft selections. Decent food, but novice service. They mean well, but the staff didn’t seem to know much about their products.

Visited on 01/06/12. Rockies were at home this evening so the place was pretty packed and security staff were ID checking at 5pm. Presume this place is Breckenridge owned as quite a few of their beers feature from the solid enough list of 40 or so on tap, plus a couple of cask lines. Largely CO beers but stuff from elsewhere, I had Left Hand Smoked Porter on cask which was well presented and in good condition. Service was really good (we just squeezed in at the bar) despite the place being very busy. Great views from the upstairs level, albeit we weren’t able to sit there. Didn’t view the bottle list, enough on tap to keep a visitor to CO more than occupied.

Happy hour was hopping and this place was a blast, lots of Colorado beers on tap and some enjoyable food.

This place is in a great location and it is huge. Bars both upstairs and downstairs. The food was pretty good, but wow was it busy. The service was just ok, but I chalk that up to the fact that the place was packed because of March Madness. The beer selection is so-so, but perfect if you like Breck and Wynkoop brews. A few out-of-state selections, but not much. Overall, a pretty cool spot, especially to have a brew on the upstairs deck, during a hot summer day.

Visited early evening on a Thursday in March. Ale House is located in "Lo-Hi" which is easily access from downtown Denver by walking across the new pedestrian bridge at 16th Street. The layout is a larger oval bar to the left as you enter, restaurant seating to the right, and a great patio on the second floor. The tap list was solid - big focus on Colorado and local Denver taps. I had a Dry Dock IPA and the Lobster Mac and Cheese. The scene is a younger bar crowd, pretty loud. Highlight of the spot is the view from the Patio - great view of downtown Denver. Certainly worth a stop for locals.

Big sportsbar in 2 floors, great location with a balcony overlooking Denvers skyline and the rockies behind it. Lots of taps, 40 or so, but all with a rather boring selection af beers you can get every else really. Standard Odell, Oskar Blues, Breckenrigde etc. Service and pricing was ok. Didnt eat.

Great location with a gorgeous exterior; modern and attractive, with a great balcony you can see downtown from. But the inside is a little cluttered with tvs and music. Nice beer-centric art near the bar though. Nice long wrap-around bar with a load of taps, as well as a seperate upstairs area with the same taps to serve the balcony. Clever layout, but attitude is still typical sports bar. Tap selection was varied, but was mostly full of average CO offerings. CO has a ton of unique deliciousness to offer, but I felt like Ale House just chose the best moneymakers, meaning you can find any of these taps most anywhere in the city. Not enough from the small guys, mostly Breck, Wynkoop, Odell, Oskar Blues, et. Sometimes theyll have something rare, but if you go on any given day, you’ll probably end up getting something youve had 10 times before. But I do have to give them more credit for having craft liquor.

showed up on the corner by accident. alright, might as well give it an honest shot. through the massive windows from outside it was obvios this was another sports bar with your typical sports bar food but hey, let’s pretend we’re serious about beer. 40 taps and 2 beer engines. sounds great, but all but a few taps were common and can be found at a dozen other places in town. combine this with the televisions at every viewing angle and loud radio rock hits coming out of the ceiling and you get the picture. i’m sure the regular love the place for watching bronco games, but it’s not my kind of place. visual pollution and noise pollution. but that’s how things are, i know.

Stopped in for a beer but need to come back to try the food - the location of this place is undeniably awesome - right in the LoHi neighborhood, with ample outdoor seating overlooking downtown - nice open space that lets in a lot of air and natural light - quite a large bar area - everything constructed of lightly finished wood - tile floors in the dining area are a bit of a turn-off, but otherwise a great space - beer list was disappointing since this was billed as a place that will try to showcase all the beer CO has to offer - LOTS of Breckinridge beers and the rest of the tap list was dominated by the big name local breweries (Avery, OB, Odell, Wynkoop, SKA) - everything on tap was an already ubiquitous beer from an extremely established brewery - with so many taps, it should be easy to showcase a more diverse selection from around the state - prices were fair considering the neighborhood (most beers are 5 bucks) - servers were attentive and friendly - it has a lot of promise, but they need to work on the tap list.
