zanaspus (2), Columbus, Ohio does not count - explanation | | March 14, 2012 This is as good as it gets in Columbus. Yes, you can buy a lawnmower or toilet paper here, but their beer selection is unmatched. Most things available in Ohio are available here. | tappingtech (3), Ohio does not count - explanation | | February 5, 2012 This store has about the best beer selection in the Columbus area. Good selection of craft brews from Ohio and beyond. The selection of import beers is about the best in the city. Good selection of Belgian, English, German, Scottish and Italian specialty beers. There is usually a selection of beer glass ware as well, including some unusual Belgian and American craft glass. A must visit for serious beer enthusiasts. | | miketd (112), Cleveland, Ohio | | December 9, 2011 Big grocery store with a nice beer selection. Came here specifically for Columbus IPA and picked up their Winter Beer as well. | michcam8 (4), Ohio does not count - explanation | | December 3, 2011 My go to place for the hard to find beer and overall slection. Extensive Belgium and American hand crafted brews. Mix and match 6 packs available and alot of bombers to choose from. While there you can grocery shop, get hardware supplies and shop for clothes. Excellent store! | | DiarmaidBHK (307), Pennsylvania | | September 18, 2011 What a schizophrenic place. Part hardware store, part garden center, part appliance store, part Wegmans. The beer selection is really top notch with an outstanding selection of local and national craft, Belgians, Germans, and English. Prices are reasonable as well. | | lancehenry (16), , | | May 20, 2011 So I had to stop in here because of the large selection of beers I heard they had. Well, the reviews were right! I tell you what, the stores here in Columbus are nothing like the stores in Vegas! I was able to snag some Hop Stoopid, Lagunitas WTF, a few Ommegang’s and a beer from Hoppin Frog called Outakilter. The guy working the floor highly recommended it. Customer service was great. He knew his beers and was willing to chat with me about different ones that I wasn’t able to find. All in all, a must stop!
| bigg08i (5), Ohio does not count - explanation | | April 27, 2011 Well displayed and an excellent selection. Staff seems knowledable too. | | theisti (273), Leawood, Kansas | | April 13, 2011 My initial reaction was shock at the sheer size of this place when I pulled up. It’s a giant grocery, hardware and garden store. I didn’t wander much, mostly just checked out the beer. They also have a fair amount of beer and wine. The beer selection is good, though I though Plamers that I hit earlier in the day was better. They did have a fair amount of singles, and the prices seemed reasonable. The big drawback is the lack of service and beer coolers. I would imagine they move stock relatively quickly, though I would be careful with some of the more obscure labels. Overall, an interesting experience. | | jrallen34 (207), Chicago, Illinois | | March 31, 2011 So I was in Columbus visiting family when my step-mother, who knows I like beer, is like you need to go Andersons they have lots of beer. I’m silently thinking give me a break! I live in Chicago, I have access to tons of beers! Being a good soldier I went along and boy was I happy.
The beer selection was awesome. They had everything. They had Bells I haven’t seen in Chicago, lots of trappist beers, and tons of 6 packs of great stuff.
The best part was I came across Stone and Alesmith. I was like WTF? You cannot get either in Chicago. I found Stone oak aged arrogant bastartd, ruination ipa, alesmith speedway stout and IPA. Too bad I was only in town for 2 days. What a great selection. I will go nuts there over Chirstmas.
| | MbpBugeye (22), Columbus, Ohio | | January 12, 2011 This place has quickly jumped up in the ranks of Columbus area beer shops. The newly expanded beer area sports the biggest mix-a-six singles shelf in the area. Everything found in 6 packs are broken into singles, ripe for the picking.
The bomber/750 selection is not lacking either. They have just about every Ohio beer there is. Cantillon is also healthily represented, which is something we are missing in this city since Grapes of Mirth went under.
You can get glassware here, but it seems to be hit or miss. Gift packs are the best bet for glasses.
Service is a solid "meh". The store is simply too big to give you a personal touch. That said, there is usually someone in the area working on stocking the beer and wine who can help, if these people know bunk about beer is another question. |
