On weekends there are food trucks and paintings on the wall. This is when you go. Space is huge, white and would probably be off-putting if not festooned with local paintings. Beer is... well... it’s Angel City, remember?

The brewery is planning on having there grand opening sometime in late February. I stopped by earlier today as the owner and brewmaster Michael agreed to sell me some of his Imperial Stout (which has sold out at local stores). The building itself is a beautiful (what appears to be circa 1920s), architecture firm (the John A Roebling Building). The space is absolutely massive, and looks very classical. There seems to be plenty of parking and room for them to go. They were getting ready to install the tanks today. Michael still has beer that he can sell from the old brewery, and charges extremely fair prices (he threw in extras as well). He also seemed more than willing to talk about brewing and homebrewing (I gave him a bottle). The area is the arts district of down town LA near little Tokyo and only blocks away from Wurstkuche. I look forward to their opening, and feel confident that they will do well. I’ll update this place rating when they settle in a bit more.
