A Samuel Smith pub so the beer is cheap, my fav the cask bitter is a steal at £1.30 a pint. Like all sammy smith pubs the building has a old school feel to it tucked in a little alleyway just off brigate highstreet. A great place to get away from the busy shoppers and sit down in front a warm fire.
The cheap price of drinks does attract alot of ’characters’ to the pub which can be very entertaining depending on your mood.

Off a dark, unmarked alley off of one of Leeds main pedestrian shopping streets, Briggate, blink and you’d miss it. The Angel is a Samuel Smith pub. Those who know can stop reading now. No music, no frills, no over priced beer, no big name soft drinks. Just a great selection of Sam Smith beer at good prices. Once you find it, the atmosphere is friendly and unpretentious. Beer selection as i recall Organic (bottled), Pure Brew and Alpine Largers, Nut Brown and Old Brewer Ales on tap plus a few other in bottles i couldn’t read. If your a fan of great beer its defo a place to sniff out when in Leeds (esp. when shopping!).
