82 Great atmosphere in this popular downtown 2A pub. I enjoyed a couple glasses of their 35th anniversary imperial stout brewed by Bell’s Brewery with a charcuterie plate....highly recommended. One tip: the bartenders ignored me on two separate visits, but I was immediately served when I was seated at a table. |
84 Visited Nov-2011. Visited on a very busy Saturday night in November, this place must be absolutely rammed on a game night or during Frosh week. Funk country rock music blaring over speakers, wooden booths carved with students’ comments and sharpie pics. The downstairs underground is quieter but also has a couple televisions -- all of the TVs in the house are tuned into the football game. Amazing tap list upstairs, pretty good downstairs. Worth the wait for a table! Quick friendly service. Didn’t try any food but the variety looks pretty good -- pub bites, wraps, sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, and even specialty fries. Would return for the beer list. (5/8/13/NA/8/16) 84 |
80 Visited on a rather busy monday evening. Looks like a student bar with a good selection of beers of tap and bottles. They even have danish mead. Friendly service. Wouldn’t mind visiting again some day. |
76 A classic beer pub interior-wise, with around sixty beers on tap and quite a lot of bottles too. Got decent service, didn’t run into lot of beers they were out of either, in fact just one. We visited on a quiz night so the place were crowded, still no problems getting served. Didn’t try any food. A place worth visiting. |
82 Probably the best beer selection of any bar in Ann Arbor. The food s not bad either- the Stilton waffle fries are excellent. Definitely a student bar and canbe loud. They do a very good job bringing in different breweries. Went to a Bells night and had Expedition Stout, Black Note Stout and Double Cream Stout - a lot of good beer and fun! |
84 A great craft beer bar that always has awesome events going on. The tap list is usually great year round, but they have plenty of take-overs and events with some beers that linger for a good amount of time. Bell’s Bourbon Barrel Cherry Stout was on tap for almost a week! Great bar food, tons of greasy burgers, fries, hummus, chips, pizza, & a really awesome cheese platter. Decent service. Pretty small place, can take a while to get a seat sometimes. I’ve also had a few issues with dirty lines a couple times. Had only a beer or two then ended up with an incredible headache later on. Other than that, the best place to drink beer in AA. |
86 I’ve been here one time that was included in a little Ann Arbor day paired with Jolly Pumpkin. I really liked the vibe inside with the staff and fellow patrons. All very nice. A nice amount of seating in the small space without feeling cramped. A decent tap list with a lot of local options. Grabbed a couple pours and paired it with an out of this world cheese plate and some hummus. Overall a nice stop with the light shined on that delicious cheese variety. |
74 This bar is very close to the university and you can tell. Definitely a student bar, a bit of a dive and sticky. Service was OK. Selection is why you come here, a huge amount of taps and all over the range. We didn’t eat. Prices were OK, they do have daily beer specials which make it better. A good place to try a variety although only pre-set samplers. |
88 We didn’t eat there but we drink !!! Great selection of international products. We will be back. |
