| kmweaver (67), Takoma Park, Maryland | | October 1, 2008 I’m pretty sure this is the first perfect 10 I’ve ever given for values: 5 free samples every time you visit - how does one beat that? Never been a grandiose fan of Avery beers, but you can’t go wrong with free samples (even with lots of tips, it’s cheap), solid and knowledgeable bar staff, and decent local crowd (although a bit more rough-edged than I’ve seen at other Boulder venues). Wasn’t really impressed by the selection (a few cask things, but nothing I couldn’t get in bottles, and nothing especially good), but it seems like they tend to have rare beers on tap at other times. Makes sense to call ahead if you’re looking for something new. | | Aubrey (65), Denver, Colorado | | September 23, 2008 Cool place. Awesome people. Incredible beer, not to mention nifty specials on tap. Great schwag. What more could you ask for? If it was only about beer and people, I’d give it a 100. | | acrdz (538), Boulder, Colorado | | September 11, 2008 Pretty cool place, I always wondered why it received such high ratings, but it makes sense now that I’ve seen it. Nicely decorated interior, comes across as a garage and a lodge, trying without trying, open and friendly building, very friendly staff, lots of youngsters sitting around drinking, you know there’s a little bit of that New Belgium element, where people show up just to drink for free. Selection is pretty good, most of the regular on tap, an oaked Kaiser when I visited, and two vintages of Old Jubilation. They had some food on the grill, very informal atmosphere, very chill. Avery draft isn’t so bad, I think I’ll be back regularly. | | oberabcbbsok (37), Hoboken, Belgium | | August 28, 2008 Was there for the 15th aniversary. The beer is excelent, the food was outstanding and the special vertical tassting impressive. | kriggins (1), , Florida does not count | | July 6, 2008 I visited Avery’s tasting room during a buisiness trip to Colorado. As luck would have it, they were having their monthly Insider’s Tasting event. For $20, two of Avery’s brewers and their Marketing Director conduct a theme-based tasting event with a small group of hard-core beer fans. The staff was awesome, answering questions and providing a fun experience. The taps flowed with a dry-hopped version of Avery’s IPA, and other unique offerings. This was a terrific place, with great people and phenomenal beer. What more could one ask for? | | BeerandBlues2 (139), Colorado Springs, Colorado | | February 19, 2008 So the selection was nice as they had an Oak-Aged Reverend on as well as a Russian River brew. The guy working the taps seemed to have cared less that I was there, even being the only one in for at least ten minutes. Props to Avery for a tap room though. | | GlenVargas (10), El Paso, Texas | | July 13, 2007 The guys working the tasting room at Avery were incredibly friendly, and they encouraged us to try as many of their beers as possible. The samples were all free. Our group ended up buying several bombers of Fourteen and a couple kegs. Although the room is small, everyone there was genuinely fun to be around. | | waldowalters (11), Texas | | February 7, 2007 Good tour, they have a fairly nice new tastying room here. I was able to have one of the best Salvations on tap I ever had. The guide for our tour was very open to answering questions and allowed us to sample several of the beers they had on tap. You have the option of purchasing bottles of beer there, but there was not much selection at the time, so I did not buy anything. | | waolsen (51), Littleton, Colorado | | October 4, 2006 very small tasting room. During GABF there were many big beers on tap. Brewer poured. Very crowded at the time. Wish we would have done a tour. They were very open to questions and were passionate about their beers. | | fly (163), austin, Tejas, | | October 2, 2006 Amazing that all the beers brewed can come from here. If you’ve been you’ve seen and may agree. Just cutting through visiting crowd at GABF time is work. Been twice and greeted very nicely each time and had some interesting variations on beers. Adam Avery and/or his father always seem to be engaged in conversation with their fans. | View Page : 1 2
