Sandwiched between the canal and the fast moving Calderdale Way, this brewpub carries both its own ales and a fine rotating selection from Yorkshire and beyond. Despite the dual carriageway being a stones throw away it has a superb location perched right above the Rochdale canal and itís hard to see why anyone with a narrowboat wouldnít stop at this Elland pub given the pretty location it occupies. For those travelling by more popular forms of transport there is a car park and it is walkable from the main bus stops in town. The brewpub has its brewery area visible on the left as you enter, whilst the very comfortable and nicely decorated walls of the drinking area are to your right. Itís predominantly wooden in design with mix of boards and carpets on the floor. The bar is central to the building and ales are spread out on all three sides of it. Itís open plan with several defined areas to sit in, although if a table is available overlooking the canal than itís worth grabbing one. Food is available but not on Mondays.
