The service was friendly; the food was decent; the beer was mediocre, at best. Unless you’re in the area or need to tick a Nevada beer, I wouldn’t go out of my way for this place.

Casino/Sportsbook with a cafe and brewery. At the bar you can get one of around 5 house brews on tap for a mere $3 a pint, $2 during a football game. They have a red, a porter, a bavarian, and a few others that switch around from time to time. If you’re going to be watching a game or playing slots, its a good place to do so. Beyond that, it’ll be too noisy and smoky for many.

This is a casino that brews beers. No table games. Very smoky. Service is decent. The beer selection is average at best. Their food is good and this place is a good value. They also sell growlers for $8.99 and offer refills for $4.99. Not a bad place, but not worth going out of your way for.

(Visited 04/2008): Barley’s Casino & Brewing is located in Henderson on Sunset Road, not too far from the airport. There is a large parking lot that is shared by all the stores in the strip mall where it is located. The interior looks like most other casinos. You probably wouldn’t even know it was a brewpub without knowing the name of the place. The bar is toward the center of the casino, so all the sights and sounds of slot machines, TVs, gamblers etc are right there. As with most places like it, smoking is very prevalent. Barley’s has 5 beers on draught (they were actually out of one of them on my visit) and they are available as a sampler. The beers are all of a lighter variety (Pale Lager, Hefe, Amber) except for a Stout. All of them are barely average. Service was decent on an early weekday evening. The bartender knew a little about the beers and offered to give me an extra of one of the other beers on the sampler since they were out of one. I declined as this was the 5th brewpub I visited that day and I was ready to wrap it up. I tried the mozzerella sticks and they were decent. Overall, the words Casino & Brewery are cause for concern for me after a few trips to Vegas. It is usually pretty easy to see which of the two is the main focus and it is abundantly clear at this brewpub. I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again.

Wow, I’d have thought I had a rating here for this since I spent quite a bit of time here when I lived in Vegas. Barley’s used to be a fairly nice "bridge" casino with a couple of live gaming tables, a nice little sports book and a good-enough cafe with decent beers. They hosted an annual local beer festival that boosted their rep. Unfortunately on my most recent visit while in town, I was disappointed ... the live gaming tables are gone, the quality of the food has diminished and I was even disappointed in the beer. The wait staff were beer-illiterate too, which didn’t help at all. This has moved down the scale to just another Vegas lower-tier joint that happens to make it’s own beer. Only worth the trip if you have a lot of time to kill and you’ve exhausted the city’s other better choices.

The Brewer is married to a Canadian, They have a great burger and beer deal for like $5. They make one of the better Marzens I have had always have cool seasonals. And if that wasn’t enough it is a cross the street from Lee’s one of the best liquor stores I have been to.

What can you say? Can’t knock it for being a Casino Brewery, it’s better than a casino. Beer was the usual fare, there was too much smoke in the place, and you had to walk through a terribly sad gaming area to get to the tables. They had outside seating but we didn’t try it considering it was about 105 F that day. The location is in far east Las Vegas, within the Henderson city limits. This place sits inside a strip-mall building. Big, large ceiling, big screen TVs, but not anything go out of your way for. Then again, most beer brewed in Vegas is of the same quality.
