excellent pub/restaurant. numerous trappists and other european brews, like Chimay, Konigshoeven, Mikkeller, and Struise. Decent American selection as well, including Rogue among others. Prices are very high, but part of that is just being in Canada, and the selection is worth it. Didnít have the food, but looked delicious on the menu. Best place I could find in the city.
Updated 1/20/15: Second time back at Volo. Amazing draft list that was probably 90% great Ontario craft brews, a few from Quebec, and I think thatís actually it. Very solid bottle list; had a DDC Solstice DíEte. Do not miss this place.

Stopped in here on a cold wintery Saturday close to lunch time. I think they just opened. There is no dedicated parking here, or metered parking along the street. Actually, we ended up in a metered parking lot about a block away just off of Yonge Street. Not bad really and it wasnít all that expensive. When we walked in, there was one other group inside. For the duration of my visit, it was just us. One quirk about this place is that for any orders, be it food or drink, you had to place it at the bar. I would hope there was somebody in the kitchen preparing the food, but I canít really say with any level of certainty. The person running the bar and taking orders was very knowledgeable about all of their beer and food, so that was great. The tap list and bottle list was heavy on the sours, which I have never seen anywhere else. Also, there was mostly Canadian beer on tap, so local centric. When I noticed they had bottles of Cantillon available, the bartender regretfully informed me that they just blew a keg of Classic Geuze the night before. Regardless, their tap list and bottle list was about as good as it gets. I ordered a draft Bellwoods beer and was able to enjoy a bottle of Dieu du Cielís cherry berliner weiss. Everybody ordered sandwiches and we shared a pickle and ferment plate as an appetizer. Everybodyís meal was awesome. Prices were decent on the food. Bottle prices were a little high, but drafts were appropriate. This place is badass. One thing I didnít like about this place is the restrooms. The menís smelled like piss, and my wife said the womenís toilets would not flush. I donít know if this is a common issue, but it was very much noticed during my visit. That part was bad, but not nearly bad enough to keep me from coming here again.

My last stop of my Toronto beer tour, we got here at about 1am on a Thursday night and it wasnít so busy. Smaller than most places i went in town but with a nice large outdoor terrace The interior is dark wood with a huge chalkboard with the best tap list in town. Tons of saisons were on tap which was a style underrepresented at other places in town. 50 cents for 1 oz pours plus 3$ for a more substantial tasting size had me ordering a bunch of stuff. Friendly staff, truly a world class place.

Took a cab to barVolo with my wife, based on all the positive reviews. Itís a small corner beer bar in a busy part of town. Limited seating; we had to wait a bit. Massive list of mostly Canadian craft beers; each beer is numbered and you order at the counter using the number - clever. Friendly service; fun place.

Definitely the best bar in the city and an absolute must stop when here. Fantastic beer list of mostly Ontario locals, but also some Quebec stuff (Dieu du Ciel especially). Wonderful ambience and service was top notch. Food was good too, with even a couple of vegan options. Prices are slightly more reasonable than Bar Hop. Awesome place.
