J_A (1), Virginia does not count - explanation | | April 22, 2012 All, if you want to go to The Pub off of Route 3 (near Tractor Supply Company), ask if Rhea P. or Nichole P. are working. If they are WALK OUT. They were both EXTREMELY rude to my family and friends while they were visiting for my father’s funeral. If you want a cold one while either of those two are there, go somewhere else. | | BeerandBlues2 (358), Lone Tree, Colorado | | January 22, 2012 A very smokey bar that also brews their own beer. The beers are average to good with nothing really special here. I did not have food so I cannot comment on that. The smoke really detracted from the atmosphere, so be forewarned if you visit. | | Velkyal (62), Charlottesville, Virginia | | February 23, 2011 Smokey, dark and essentially a child free zone. Selection of house brews and a few macrobrew bits and bobs. Reminded me of the dingy bars I used to go to when I lived in Birminghan in England. Not a place to take the wife, but for a few pints with the lads its ok. | | Drake (295), Charlottesville, Virginia | | November 13, 2009 [ Updated February 23, 2011 ] Visited early on a Friday. Not too crowded and this place clearly attracts a more mature crowd, which is nice. Bar on one side and restaurant on the other. Bar was a little smoky but that will change soon with impending law changes. Nice English pub vibe, with the requisite beers on tap (Bass, Boddingtons, Guiness and the like). They had three house beers on tap. Unfortunately none were very good. Bar staff was very nice. Did not order food. $4 a pint for the house beers.
Update... with the law changes they took the steps to remain a smoking establishment. I guess that’s cool if you smoke, but for me, that knocks this place down several points. |
