| joet (43), Fulton, California | | October 19, 2009 Very enthusiastic staff, typical American brewpub but always with very good beer. Go often for choice options never seen bottled or outside the area. Very under rated IMO. Great schooner program. Specials are also way better than average - Tuesday wild game with beer pairings was very cool. | | Lubiere (177), Ottawa, Ontario | | August 28, 2009 After a 4 year hiatus, this was my second visit. Situated in the pictoresque main square of Healdsburg, this brewpub is nice and homey, serving about10 of their beers, most of them not available in bottles. The beers are above average. The food is excellent pub fare....try the fish and chips, delicious. Very friendly service and good chatting with fellow clients. | | NEA (10), California | | August 7, 2009 Great beers, small brewery. | | KyotoLefty (131), Kyoto, Japan | | August 1, 2009 Great place. Great selection of fabulous beers, including many you can’t find elsewhere. Great food as well. Very enjoyable place to go. | | wavers1 (32), novato, California | | July 31, 2009 nice setting, just themed too much like an applebee’s or something.not enough room for a bar, too crowded for a restaurant. the food was pretty good, but just standard pub fare items. beer is good, not great. they had one amazing casked iipa that was phenomanal, all the others were so-so and the staples were, well, staples. friendly and cute staff, service was prompt. would be a 10, but they were not very beer savvy. worth a stop if you are headed north, but if you live far away you are better off to just buy some bombers. | | fidel (50), Livermore, California | | July 16, 2009 RBSG09- Nice brewpub with some good beers they don’t distribute. | | DaSilky1 (45), San Diego, California | | July 16, 2009 Smelled a bit like epcot center...restauranty atmosphere with a bar up front...pretty good selection of beers available. The food, I only had appetizers, was standard brewpuby-type food. Didn’t see the production facility, just the restaurant. It was decent though, just not anywhere to drive out of the way to. | | dchmela (52), Orlando, Florida | | July 8, 2009 Good brewpub in a quaint little Nor Cal town. My wife and I sat out on their deck and had a nice lunch (food was pretty good) and I had a sampler of their beers(16!!). The brews were good and the service was really good. I think Healdsburg is a neat little town and a this place is a must visit. | | Rastacouere (475), Montréal, Quebec | | July 7, 2009 A surprisingly not very pretty pub in the pretty town center of Healdsburg. Bear Republic is on an alley by Healdsburg avenue and has a weird terrace on the back where lighting remains subtle in the evening and huge metal fermentors force the waiters to dance around to reach their customers. Still, we had good service and were quite impressed by the beer selection. There were 16 of their beers on draught including a whole lot of stuff that does not go into the bottles. Since it’s a talented brewery, you may very easily fall onto interesting discoveries, but I would avoid Belgian styles which tend to be overly sweet. A satisfying experience for people who dig the brewery, but not quite essential in this area where so many breweries reside. | | mrhoppy (59), Santa Clara, California | | July 3, 2009 Great place and great beer. The kind of place your happy to find on a brewery tour. It’s a classic joint. Trust me. Go here you will not be sorry. |
