| JCB (120), Durham, North Carolina | | April 1, 2012 Stopped in here late on a Sunday afternoon. Interesting neighborhood, a mix of beautiful old midwestern homes and tweakers. This was verified by the excellent staff at BPS, whose company I enjoyed. Terrific selection overall, ranging from an extensive selection of Belgians and Scandos to a really comprehensive midwestern selection (including several cool looking breweries I’d never heard of), and a better than average selection of national craft. Glad I made the detour to check this place out. | SnobbyBeer (1), , does not count - explanation | | February 21, 2012 Hands out, without a doubt, THE BEST place in Dayton to get beer. Period. Great, knowledgeable staff, amazing selection, great assortment of glassware, right next to a home brew shop - what more could you ask for? PLUS they update facebook/twitter when they get new beers in. Amazing place, GO THERE. | | blutt59 (121), Dallas, Texas | | January 13, 2012 huge and varied selection worthy of the Belmont name, lots of the newest offerings from a wide variety of the top national and local brewers, also short drive from the airport for out of towners | dannikki (1), , does not count - explanation | | December 13, 2011 [ Updated January 2, 2012 ] By far the greatest selection around and a great knowledgeable staff!!! And if your into brewing your own head next door to thier brewing store Brewtensils | | weihenweizen (63), Charleston Area, West Virginia | | October 10, 2011 [ Updated November 26, 2011 ] Great selection of american brews, belgian brews, and descent selection of germans. Great selection of american singles, good selection of belgians, and pretty good selection of germans. Got lots of help getting some brews. | ken_schmidt (1), beavercreek, Ohio does not count - explanation | | September 29, 2011 After moving to Dayton from a much larger market, Belmont Party Supply has been one of the few bright spots! Great selection, good prices and they are very active in the area with regards to beer events. Awesome place to be! | | GraniteSkunk (10), Moline/Quad Cities, Illinois | | September 15, 2011 Stopped at Belmont while out in Dayton for a hockey game. It wasn’t that had to find, but I thought I might get stabbed while in the parking lot. However, it was well worth the risk of brutal physical assault when I got inside. Simply fantastic selection from this little corner of Ohio. Excellent choices - picked up quite a bit(even some older Black Label Girardin). The "beer guy" on staff was also very knowledgeable. He pointed out a couple Ohio brewed selections that I ended up loving. If I’m ever back in Dayton, I’ll make a point to set aside an hour or so to shop. I’ll wear my Kevlar, though, just to be on the safe side. | | AguynamedTodd (75), Illinois | | August 23, 2011 Store is located in a dingy mini strip mall. Inside, the beer selection is located in the back 2/3 of the store. Almost every available space is used to display beer. Very nice selection for the region. 21st Amendment, Lagunitas, Victory, Alesmith, Smuttynose, etc. Prices are reasonable. My only concern is that it gets pretty warm in the building, especially during the summer months. I haven’t had a bad beer yet due to getting too warm but it’s a possibility. | lozo130 (6), Ohio does not count - explanation | | August 20, 2011 [ Updated March 8, 2012 ] Belmont is the place to go in the Dayton area for craft beer. They have everything and Mike is on the top of all the distribution lists when it comes to one offs and rare beers. They do special one off releases of rare beers all the time, so make sure to follow them on facebook and twitter. The rare releases are kept behind the counter so be sure to ask the attendant, they might have something stashed. The only down side is that the place is kinda dingy from the outside, but the inside is well kept and looks in the process of renovation. | | BelgianBeerGal (42), Dayton Area, Ohio | | August 14, 2011 [ Updated December 3, 2011 ] Yes it looks a little sketchy outside and the surrounding neighborhood but you should definitely stop. Nothing fancy on the inside either. Tons of beers and most things are available as singles in the back. They carry a variety from high-end bottles to local ticks. Everyone I talked with seemed super nice and helpful. Prices seemed fairly in-line with other good stores. Lucky to have this as my local store now. #1 in the Dayton area for sure. Only complaint is their habit of holding back limited releases for "friends and family" even when I’m standing there with $ in hand ready to buy a bottle. |
