N.American beer drinker reviewing for other N. Americans or non Europeans. I like Belgian beers enjoy them in the US for 25 years but drink plenty of other beers as well. Touristy bar right off the main train station. Service plus/minus. Food-ok-ish.Prices not low. Now to the beer which is the point. First the drafts, you will have seen several before. I have never seen any of what I drank in US. Started with an ok Belgian pils. Then a Belgian blond had not seen before really good beer. Then a triple I had not had yet - really really good. Then I managed to somehow inhale a westmalle dubbel- which I have found on draft once in US ever. Lastly split the Malhuer brut beer in 750ml bottle with GF. -Fantastic! My advice to the folks I address at the start is, once off the train, check your bags, stay several hours here and welcome to Belgium! Enjoy the rest of your trip. May all the beer bars you visit be better than this!

Visited on a thusday evening, not many guests but very slow service. 10 min waiting time to order and 15 min untill the first beers was served and another 5 min untill the last beer was served.

Visited on a Wednesday evening. The kitchen was closed by then, but as I later saw a couple of mice running around in there, I really don't mind that we missed out on the food. The beer menu comes in form of a small book, but much of it is fairly uninteresting and seems to be more about quantity than quality. Service was a bit slow, but with the central location at least it's an ok place to stop by if you have an hour to spend waiting for the train.

Tourist trap spot on the main drag from the train station to the center. The service was terribly slow, the prices were high as expected. The menu had a large selection, but nothing unusual and they were either out of a fair portion, or that's more like a list of beers they would like to have, not a menu of beers they actually have. There are better places for sure, but if you have limited time to kill before your next train, it's close.

Only for tourists, all the great breweries are present. Liked the menu, almost a beerbook. Pass it for the beers

Visited on a friday night with Lars. It was very crowdy when we entered, but we found a nice spot at the hobbit bar. (We call it like that because the chairs were mini). I loved the interior, they use a lot of wood, some beer ads on the wall. The tap list is on a chalkboard, behind the hobbit bar. Service was quick, good serving. Friendly and humorous. Large selection, some of large breweries, some of smaller breweries. Yet their "hard to find"-list was not impressing, which let me down a bit. Let’s say it is not the cheapest place out there. But since the location and the amount of staff present, it’s probably correct.

it smelled like shit in the place, especially in the back. not all beer’s were in stock however a good set of beers on the list ---they fixed the toilet problem

A great place in the heart of Antwerp. The service is always plentiful and quick, food is good, and the beer selection is as broad as the street it lies on. It is not the cheapest of places but appears to be worth the sacrifice considering how much one can taste in a single sitting. Despite its size, the place has a cozy, local, wooden interior and creates a pleasant atmosphere on the days it is not filled to the brim.
