| Dfonorow (37), Hoboken, New Jersey | | September 13, 2010 This place has amazing food, an above average selection of beer (bottles, only 4 on tap when I went), and excellent service. The only problem is that it is very expensive. If you don’t mind spending 50 or so a person for a great meal and a couple beers then there is really no better place to go in the area. | | godofsky (15), Montréal, Quebec | | February 22, 2010 really enjoyed this place, but it’s very expensive to drink. the food was very good, and quite the extensive beer menu. problem is that it’s way overpriced. 12 bucks for a 341ml bottle of La Trappe dubbel. | duffbeerfan (8), does not count - explanation | | October 23, 2009 This former bank has an inviting mood for those who want to discover new beers with - or without - friends. The only ’yikes’ is that their pub identity doesn’t match with the absence of cathodic screens, no sports to cheer with.
Anyways, their main weaknesses is the poor service, as you have to wait a long time for the waiter if you don’t want to seek for them, and the ’Oh-my-goddish’ prices.
Example: most of the belgian beers (330ml) = nearly 10$ CAD = 6 euros = very expensive.
But, they have plenty of beers, even with their own menu and not a small one. The food is just decent, but also pricey. Don’t go there if you just feel like eating a steak.
Final mark: I’ll go there only if the other places nearby are closed. | | flx (10), Quebec | | June 21, 2009 Ambiance is chill. Can be loudy. Beer selection is good but a bit expansive.A great place to try in Montreal. | | LadySusan (90), Ste-Therese, Quebec | | June 8, 2006 This place has a beer menu that can please everybody, and if you like mussels well your at the right place. The service is great and what I like is that you can take all the time you want to have a great time. | | fluids (29), | | August 14, 2005 [ Updated July 20, 2006 ] I love this place. They had more Belgian beer than any place I went to in Montreal, and they introduced me to two of my favorites now: Gouden Carolus and Hett Kapital. They have Ostrich, Caribou and Buffalo burgers. They server mussels about 14 different ways and they cook with beer from all over the world! Beer is poured in the intended glass it should be. On Tuesdays the mussels are all you can eat.
| | tiggmtl (117), Vancouver, British Columbia | | November 28, 2004 A local chain of beer themed restaurants that could be worth a visit if hungry and in the neighbourhood. Ambiance at this location reminds me of a converted train station in Brussels or Paris. All menu items have beer as an ingredient in some fashion. Beer selection is fairly typical English/European imports with very litle focus on Belgian specialties. Service is hurried especially at busy times, but it’s a decent place for a meal and a pint. |
