| DutchDrebus (18), Oirschot, Netherlands | | May 13, 2012 Amazing shop. Not that big in size, but huge in selection. A lot of Belgian beers for great prizes. Great value also. Downside is that there aren’t any American or Scandinavian beers, but it’s actually not much of a problem. Theres more then enough.
Nice staff that offer you a pintje when you’re at the cashregister. | | sebletitje (200), Enghien, Belgium | | April 7, 2012 Holy mackerel this place rocks. Has the typical ’Drink/bottle depot’ look from the outside. Inside is very well arranged with full aisles of Belgian beers from all over the country, many rare, or small productions. Everything is nicely presented, arranged by breweries.
Selection is huge, it beats any places I have seen so far in the country, and certainly puts any beer store in Brussels to shame.
Second point to make are the prices. I have no idea how the place even makes a profit on the beers, I got 28 bottles for 35€ with the priciest at 2€60. They have some pricier bottles as well which all are still very cheap compared to any shops in the capital.
Service was friendly, the lady at the counter was very busy, but still offered me a pint of Romy pils. I did not have a need for assistance but I am happy with the overall service.
In terms of atmosphere, many locals, a great region and some nice small villages to visit in the area make the trip worthwhile. The place itself is a regular shop, I was happy with the cleanliness of the place and the great variety of the beers. | | BelgaBart (25), Antwerpen, BELGIUM, Belgium | | February 1, 2012 This is thé best shop aropund in Antwrep (province). The selection is amazing !
Price is very good ! asy to get there through public transport or highway E313 | | Wim (13), Weelde , Belgium | | December 11, 2011 a nice small beer schop with a verry nice large selection of belgian beer a place to go verry nice | | Yves (10), Turnhout, Belgium | | December 11, 2011 [ Updated December 19, 2011 ] Small beer shop with very large selection of belgian beers. Very friendly owners and free roman pils when waiting for the bill. A must visit shop. | tquest (5), Ghent, Belgium does not count - explanation | | December 9, 2011 A really nice small beer store with a huge variety of beers. They only sell Belgian beers, but they do sell alOt.
Also a very nice geuze section with some rarities. They do have VISA.
When I visited I saw ’Peet’, the owner of ’Take one’, a very nice bar in Maastricht. | | MrHangover (22), Den Haag, Netherlands | | December 3, 2011 Big shop for European beer store standards. Sleepy town Grobbendonk offers the best beer store I’ve ever been. Great selection of Belgian beers. Some rarities or special editions, cool giftpacks and big bottles. Glassware selection can be expanded, but it still has a decent selection. Prices are awesome, low compared to Dutch prices. Great shop, will defintely go by again. Only 90 minutes drive from my hometown. | | mike1977ok (26), , Netherlands | | October 5, 2011 A small place but with plenty packed in. Decent value, you could even say there are some bargains if you take your time and look. Friendly staff who kindly got me a few bottles of Westmalle Extra from out the back when I asked. | | Martinus (70), Nijmegen, Netherlands | | July 15, 2011 Brilliant selection, helpful staff (as long as you ask). Most of my favourites are there, plenty of small brewers and rarer brews. Felt like a kid in a candy store. | | Benzai (47), Oirschot, Netherlands | | June 30, 2011 [ Updated November 19, 2011 ] The choice you have is simply amazing! So much Belgian brewers are represented here, I just didn’t know where to start nor where to look! Only one woman was working apparently, so she just stood behind the counter. She didn’t ask anything, say anything or show any kind of interest. Ok, maybe she just saw that I knew what I was looking for, but still, with no one else in the store, I had expected a little more. --Update: 2nd visit (11.17.2011) was totally different. Woman behind the counter talked a lot, helped and served me a beer while shopping! Superb!-- The great variaty in beers made up for a lot though. Lots of fruit beers, geuzes, krieken etc but actually that goes for most styles. Prices are fine, I bought 60 beers for a little over 83 euros. If you want Belgian beers: this is THE place to go. |
