| jake65 (57), Williston, North Dakota | | November 4, 2009 Large commercial swag and tap room. Cool bar and counter, but no stools? At least they could put out a stool. The cool part, once I forget about the lack of seating, is that they give out four free samples per person per day. That and the bartender was really on top of what was going on in the brewery. No food, but I hate to eat while standing anyways. Still, free smaples trump no seating!
| | auderale (35), Fairchild AFB, Washington | | May 27, 2008 Stopped by today on my way back to Spokane. Had a few free samples at the tasting room and visited the gift shop. Not too busy, and the service was average, but friendly. Definitely will try and stop when passing through Missoula again. Picked up some cool glasses and posters. They had a bunch of cool stuff at the gift shop. | | pdxmickey (15), Spokane, Washington | | September 30, 2007 I had a great time visiting this breweries tasting room. I thought that the tasting bar was well done, and the service was wonderful. The merchandise is great as well, I especially liked the selection of tin signs they had available for purchase. They will fill growlers to make sure you take your growler along with you. | | DrBayern (39), Morehead City, North Carolina | | August 11, 2007 Big tasting room and Big Sky mechandise store. The price is sure right: 4 free samples, although when I was there they were really busy, and the one bartender couldn’t possibly have been keeping up with who had what. She seemed knowledgeable, and was quite friendly.
They didn’t have much special on tap when I was there, but local residents seem to abound, and can certainly keep abreast of new releases. Pretty nice place, and worth a stop before dinner or whatever. As I recall, they close pretty early. | | Braudog (479), Dayton, Ohio | | May 20, 2007 May 2007 - Big new industrial facility well stocked with all kinds of schwag for sale and offering 4 free 8 oz samples per day. Convenient to the airport and I-90. It was packed on our Saturday afternoon, but the single staffer didn’t miss a beat. They had about 7 on tap, and all I tried were great. Fun stop. | loren01 (5), does not count - explanation | | April 25, 2007 Fairly large building on the western side of Missoula. Had 4 free samples while I was there. Don’t really care for their more popular beers, but their seasonals that were on tap were very good. | | marcus (91), Sacramento, California | | August 8, 2006 Big Sky has moved from downtown Missoula to a larger space near the airport. There is a nice bar at which one may quaff up to four complimentary 4 oz brews. There are numerous beer related items for sale (shirts, glasses, etc.) and one may also purchase growlers of the available beers. The staff is very friendly and will patiently describe all the beers on tap. It was a very nice experience. | | BückDich (215), McCall, Idaho | | May 2, 2006 Got here about 10 minutes before closing. 4 free 5oz samples per person per visit, very nice. They had some liter swingtops for sale of some hard to find stuff, Barrely Aged IPA and Blue Haired Barleywine. Sweet! $12 a bottle you say? Fuck, but I have to buy them anways. You can get growlers and metal bottles to go as well, the brewery is fairly visable and you can buy any type of Big Sky paraphanelia you can imagine. Cool place, fairly nice staff who didn’t mind us staying around after close and she gave us some good tips on where else to go in town for beer. | | balke13 (22), MIssoula, Montana | | February 22, 2004 big sky is a small brewery in missoula, mt on the south side of the downtown right near the clark fork river...the building is a small warehouse with a tasting room. we did not go on any tour as the brewery is but one room, but you are allowed as many sample as you wish...but make sure you tip the bartender well!!!!! tried the moose drool, scape goat pale ale, barley wine, slow elk oatmeal stout, summer honey, and imperial stout....multiple times. served in a 8oz tasting glass...very good time, freindly people. this is a must if you are near or in missoula!!!! |
