| lefossoyeur (10), Montreal, Quebec | | February 15, 2012 A near empty place (it was monday night...), sophisticated decor, like the lightings, but horrible music! Why ruin the athmosphere with such lousy music, wich was an internet classic 80’s rock radio. I even recognized an Helix song! total beuurk for the athmosphere, sorry about that. tap beer menu had 8 beers, nicely selected from Dunham, Broadway pub and Charlevoix, but very pricey. Pints of 15 onces : 9$ !!! Same can be said for their mainly belgian private imports list, pricey... It’s old montreal afterall... Highlight was the food, very tasty, lots of smoked stuff. Downside, not vegetarian friendly at all. Service was kind, helpful and very professional. I hope their home-brewed beers will be good! Needs some fine tunings but it just opened, and it’s totally normal. Long life to les Soeurs Grises, but please : change the music! | | Quevillon (169), Sainte-Thérèse, Quebec | | January 15, 2012 Visited for the first time January 15, 2012. Located at the western end of Old Montreal, for me it’s the first brewpub in this area, although they have yet their brewing license, it’s only been two weeks that they are open. Located near the Lachine Canal, mainly parking on the street, the pub is in a modern building, the pub itself has a modern decor inspired by beer and the history of the Grey Nuns, it is not cold but warm and comfortable. It’s not very spacious looking with the low ceiling, but it is as big as most Montreal brewpub, it even has a second floor as a lounge. They don’t have there beers but they do has some nice guest taps, the food is nice to even if the menu is not big. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, especially Alain Brousseau, the co owner who work at Brouhaha as the bar manager. It is now the best place for beer in Old Montreal. | Andy78 (1), , Quebec does not count - explanation | | January 3, 2012 So far, before even mentioning beer, I would say that this place is simply awesome. Great food that no other brewpub in all Montreal can beat at a price that is sooo cheap.
The beer selection is good, 10 lines and the bottles are coming soon, they just opened a couple days ago. I heard that there will be a great cellar aged selection ... They do not brew their own beer yet, but it’s a question of time.
The staff is very nice and will be very soon very knowledgeable thanks to one of the proprietor being BJCP certified and beek geek.
Already a must in Montreal. |
