Love this place. With over 400 bottles to choose from, it’s amazing. Summer, a nice terrace in the front makes it awesome. Come and visit it!

Nice place with huge selection well described in the menu, but no brewed on place. Food is ok, service is excellent and price a a bit high but not too much.

Les quelques fois où je suis allé, le service était excellent, les suggestions parfaites et l’ambiance excellente. Le choix est excellent. La terrasse est grande, le choix est incroyable ! Belle expérience.

L’Autre-Oeil is located a bit past the supermalls in Aylmer, in a pretty-much residential area. And going there is pretty much like walking in somebody else’s house! They have a pretty nice terrace, which can be open when it rains (they have a tent). Ambiance, well, it’s between 3 or 5, depending when you’re getting there. A bit strange between 5 and 7 on weekdays, but really calm later on (which is appropriate), even when there are lots of people. Service ranges from great-to-awesome, depending who’s your waiter. They seem to have tasting sessions for attendants. Now, there is 500+beers. REally, really heavy on the belgian side - with some private imports. Lots of Quebec micro-brews, and while some would expect to find a bit more of them, it’s still a pretty satisfying selection that would take LOTS of time to completely get by. You don’t go there for food, but I certainly have not been disappointed so far. Value seems steep for some belgian beers, but you have to remember that they’re private imports. Otherwise, les "Trips à 4" are a really, really cheap way to drink some good Quebec microbrews (average, 14$, but you have some that are even less expansive than this, so it’s really, really worth it). A must for everybody in the region.

2010-03-05. Feels a bit like walking into someones house party, in a good way for the most part. Arriving around 600 on a Friday it was pretty packed. We grabbed a pint at the bar and waited for a table. I ended up with a large-ish glass (!!) of Trois Pistole to start and opt for a Belgian bottle for me second. Food menu is limited but decent. French onion soup was excellent, nachos were above average, Ceasar Panini is not what I expected but decent. My uncle wants to go back just for the soup! Service was a bit slow, but it was pretty busy and they were quite friendly. I think part of the slowness may be cultural, it seemed like if I didn’t have an empty glass I needed to flag someone down to get their attention? Beer menu was heavier on the Belgian side than expected, with fewer Quebec offerings than I had hoped for. Would definitely come back though. Short walk down to the beach before hand was nice.

This place is fantastic I go 2-3/month (I’m one of the lucky ones that lives a few blocks away) and every time I’ve been I’ve tried something different because the selection is enormous and it just keeps growing. Cozy inside with nice terrace outside. It’s a little bit pricey but this is to be expected due to the rare nature of some of the imports. The price for the Quebec micro brews however are very reasonable especially if you buy 4 from the same brewery (Trippe-à-4 for about 13-14$) The staff is extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. (They also have a new website that lists all the beers so check that out).

Just about a 10-minute drive from Les Brasseurs du Temps, this might be the second best beer place in the Ottawa area. We were there in the summer and with the terrace available, it felt a bit like a European biergarten, very relaxed, everybody chatting and having a beer on a picnic table. Most comfortable. Inside, it’s very small and could be your aunt’s house. The selection is frankly spectacular, first because it might be the best bottle list in Quebec, second because you would not expect it in such a small suburb. The menu itself is also a fine piece of work, with detailed tasting notes including graphical taste description. Very educative for the patrons. Several rarer beers from private imports are on offer. If the selection could be improved for a Quebec beer bar, it would be with regards to Quebec micros, but their preference seems to lean towards Belgian styles. A top notch business, service included.

One of a kind little beer bar, in a compliated 20-30 minute drive from Ottawa. If you are staying awhile, well worth it in terms of incredible Europen bottle menu. Among others, caught up with Gordons Scotch, and two Fantome found just about nowhere else. The bottles and detailed scores are found on their menu, with new beers arriving all the time. The tap selection, mostly Quebec based, was also interested. Small and homey atmosphere, with english and French alongside each other, true to the character of this place.

Really nice place. I’m really jealous that guys in Gatineau got such a nice place. Ambiance is great. some music not too loud. Their location is a bit weird as they are quite far from city centre. They do have a lot of private imports as well as LCBO and SAQ imports. The selection they have is outstanding. I had a Struise Pannepot Grand Reserva 2005 and a Cantillon Gueuze. My gf had a Timmerman Faro and a Leffe Radieuse. I discussed a bit with the waiter and he seemed quite knowledgeable about his beers and when I asked something he didn’t know, he would go to his boss and get back with the answer later on. We had a plate of cheese and paté with our beers. It is a nice place to bring the gf and have a great time with her while enjoying some astonishing beers ! Rating #3
