Cool little spot in Waterbury VT. Can’t go wrong with a place that has Hill Farmstead beers on tap. Food was only ok. Had a pizza which was a little burnt. Easy going atmosphere.

Another cool stop in Waterbury. They had 12? taps of really well selected beer including 4 offers from Hill Farmstead and 2 from Lawsons. The sole employee that was there was very nice and ran the bar efficiently despite it being packed. Cool atmoshphere and nice place. Someone even came in to by some of the flys, which I thought was just a gimmik.

Greatplace and has Vermonts finest on tap. One of bartenders was a large obnoxious fat guy that threw stuff at customers. Really a vibe kill.

We had an extraordinary evening in this tiny basement pub that, before expanding, used to sit barely 10 people. We came in around 9 pm with our 2 months baby and left past midnight, having gone through the whole 10 or so beers on tap. Every one of these were interesting. The reasonable servings may come across as a bit expensive at $6-7 for a glass, but it makes sense when you want to try everything. Superb large chalices used for Saison. Excellent connections with the outstanding Hill Farmstead ales. Almost a perfect experience, the owner throwing Monty Python’s quotes to a conquered crowd of locals, the baby sleeping all throughout, the beers being stunning. We did not even cross the street to go to the Alchemist and that would have been heresy not so long ago.

A very cool hole in the wall bar with excellent selection and a beer-passionate owner who can keep up with geek speak. Fantastic array of Vermont microbrews that the bartender said was soon expanding. In a state seemingly filled with quality-over-quantity operations, this one puts itself right near the top.

I went here for the first time with my wife this past Wednesday. Curious little hole in the wall this place is. We were staying in Waterbury and had a little time to kill before supper so since this place opens at 3pm we gave it a shot. You walk in a door take two step down and you are standing in front of a bar that has maybe 10 stools in front of it. There are a couple of long benches off to the left and that’s really the extent of the place. It’s tiny, but they are expanding into the storefront to their left which will more than double the size of the place. So the reason we were here, the beer. They have quite a tap list really. Three Hill Farmstead beers, two Sierra Nevada, two DFH, one Allagash. And probably something I’m forgetting. We had a cheese plate and that was really good and they have some sandwiches as well. We were the only ones in the bar and the guy behind the bar was knowledgeable and friendly. I’d definitely go back when in the area

Small bar just a short walk from the Alchemist. The staff is knowledgeable of the brews. Very friendly and talkative. A small menu of Panini’s and cheese trays but who cares, your going for the beer! A very nice selection for the size of the place. The owner is also a connoisseur of whiskey as well. Well worth a stop if you are in town.

I had read about this place and it’s amazing tap list in this forum so I had to check it out while I was in town. It’s right across the street, diagonally, from the Alchemist. It’s in the basement of an old downtown building so the walls are all stone and brick. The bar is made from bamboo flooring according to the owner/barkeep. The place is tiny. About 12 or so stools. Thats it. The beer was impressive. Several Hill Farmstead selections, Allagash and Petrus. No Bud Light here. The owner was friendly and obviously knew his beer.

Waterbury is rapidly becoming the best town to get a beer in the state of Vermont! Fell in love w/ Dogfish Head Olde Skool when I stopped in on Saint Paddys Day last week ; )
