| imdownthepub (164), Banbury, England | | April 26, 2012 Proper boozer below Edinburgh Castle, interesting floor tiles, which makes you study the floor rather than what is round you. Old boys pub with the chat and atmosphere that goes with that. The beer was well kept, if a little standard in range. Small, intimate, you have to grab a seat when you see one. Liked it. | | Brugmansia (32), Jylland, Denmark | | April 26, 2012 Visited this pub on the Great Graig Pubcrawl Tour 23/4-2012.
An older smaller city corner pub. A bit rundown, can be a bit crowded when busy. 8 taps with UK beers, the beers are normally in good condition. I don´t think they do food at this pub, but you can have toast etc for lunch. | | AshtonMcCobb (52), Edinburgh, Scotland | | April 22, 2012 Great old boozer with a generally good selection of cask ales and whisky (as well as rum I’m now told). The dark beers seem to be kept better here, not sure if it’s something to do with cellar temperature but the Cairngorm Trade Winds tasted sweaty. | Gingerbrew (4), Edinburgh, Scotland does not count - explanation | | January 19, 2012 nice traditional two room pub. good selection of ales, usually pouring well. I like this place but if its too busy i’ll just turn around and walk out again! | Tenacious_Doug (3), Edinburgh, Scotland does not count - explanation | | January 7, 2012 A proper cask ale boozer. No fancy keg beers, very little foreign, just good British ale. Good atmosphere and friendly service, though extremely busy at weekends. | | MalcolmTucker (14), , Scotland | | January 2, 2012 Slightly run down bar that has a good selection of cask beers. Worth a visit but can get very busy at weekend. | | jvhemert (11), Edinburgh, Scotland | | November 12, 2011 Very good quality selection of drafts. Far too crowded at times as a result. | | flying_pig (23), , Scotland | | August 16, 2011 Pretty rundown feel to the place but the selection & service where okay. Not too much to say about the place other than I doubt I’ll be back. To many better places nearby to try first. | | downender (196), Bristol, England | | June 18, 2011 Visited 7/6/2011. Interesting interior, the mosaic on the floor was particularly unusual. Pint of Knops was fine and service brisk. Fine. | | Blairgus (55), California | | February 23, 2011 It is always crowded to the point of excess on the weekends and some evenings. |
