| DocLock (121), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania | | December 11, 2011 [ Updated April 18, 2012 ] Didn’t have the food yet, so I will add food info at that time. Found this place by accident, and the bottle selection was outstanding, and the prices were great. A lot of stuff exists here that you won’t see very many other places. Great service, and a quaint bar atmosphere inside. Update 17-Apr-2012. Had the food multiple times, and it is excellent across the board. Service has been great, too. This is a top notch establishment. | mistracid (1), Pennsylvania does not count - explanation | | October 12, 2011 I’ve been to this place a few times before and I was there again this morning. The bartender “John” was very knowledgeable about all the beers on tap along with their extensive take out selection. I spent over $100 on take out beer due to his recommendations including my purchase of the Weyerbacher Rapture’s which he recommended and I must say was amazing. This seems like the place that I have been looking for to grow some roots. I live about 10 miles away, but it is well worth the drive to have a selection like they do and to have the staff that knows what they are talking about. | Neeskens (2), , Sweden does not count - explanation | | October 7, 2011 Nice selection of beers, both on draft and in the bottle shop. On some items they have good prices compared to some other peers. Not that many tables though and the staff was not very energetic about their beer. | | Jow (59), New York | | July 20, 2011 When I lived in Lansdale this place pretty much got me into craft beer. you can mix and match 6 packs to go, they have great food, and occasional tastings. its a sports bar so worth walking to to catch games if you want something more than yeungling. | | Steeeve (34), Ambler, Pennsylvania | | January 24, 2011 Love this place. Service was good. Crowd was "mature" but got younger as the night went on. They have great specials and solid prices all around. Bottle shop has a great selection and the prices are much, much cheaper than other area shops (i.e. Capone’s). Dock some points for the beer being a little too cold and undercarbonated, but other than that a great local spot. | | Scouser (13), Pennsylvania | | June 1, 2010 A nice place, food is good, service and beer selection is ok. Nice place to hang and have a beer. | | alobar (43), Lansdale, Pennsylvania | | February 5, 2010 Decent pub atmosphere. Short on tables. Solid beer menu on tap with good prices. Adequate bottle shop. Menu is not impressive, but not offensive. | | DeputyAndy (15), Ambler, Pennsylvania | | November 29, 2009 Nice place in a sort of odd location. Nice bottle shop. Its small but there are some good beers to be had. They are very good about seasonal beers. Food is standard pub food. Service is okay and in all honesty its just a bar with good beer. TVs and sports are on and it feels pretty standard. They do events. I’ve never been but would like to. | | FooFaa (25), Lebanon, Pennsylvania | | May 24, 2008 This is the Blue Dog’s first location (the second being the Tavern in Chalfont). It’s a dimly-limit, smokey, dive-sports-bar atmosphere. The service is inconsistent. They have a couple of bar tenders that are very good, and a bunch of others that are awful. The owner, Chris, and the manager are very enthusiastic about beer, and they keep a rather good selection of bottled beers for takeout that rotates frequently. The tap selection is hit-or-miss. Sometimes it’s very good, and other times just average. In all, I would say this location has the better beer selection. The food is only okay. However, they do have a couple of stand-out items on the menu. The tuna bites are good, and their vegetarian dishes are always good. Overall, it’s the beer selection that makes the place worth visiting. They do have a beer tasting the first Friday of every month. You get a free promo glass if you buy one of the featured beers, which are usually $2 a pint. | | illinismitty (275), Nashville, Tennessee | | May 11, 2008 This is located at the end of strip center and is easy to miss. As soon as you walk in, the carry out coolers are to the right. Selection was not as big as I was expecting, but they had some nice beer. Lost Abbey, Dieu De Cel, DFH, and regional beers. Inside is a dimly lit bar area with booth seating for dining. Tap selection was just ok when compared to the competition, and was a bit too loud and smoky for me to stay long. |
