Blues Bar is located in downtown Mt Prospect. It’s the only beer bar in the area and I’d hesitate to even call them a beer bar. It has a Blues Brothers theme with plenty of Jake and Elwood and live music on the weekends. I’ve been several times in the past and I’ve never been overly impressed, but as of my last visit, it appears things might be changing. The beer list is getting better, and while a good half of their taps are BMC crap, they are starting to get better beers on their other taps. Beers on tap at my last visit included Modus Hoperandi, Tyranena Old Dirty Man, and Revolution’s Eugene. Food is basically BBQ-focused bar food: Pulled pork nachos, lots of burgers and sandwiches, some smoked meats, and a few entrees. Overall, the food is not bad (not great either), but they give you a large portion for a fair price. Service can be hit or miss. I’ve had servers here in the past that clearly didn’t want to be here. I’ve also had servers who’ve known far more about beer than one would expect from a place like this.

I frequent this joint about once every 2 months or so for lunch with a group of friends. We are always treated like regulars. Beer selection is very nice and the food is quite good.

Really the only beer bar in the area. Went there with my wife to grab some dinner. Only 8 or taps and nothing special on tap. They have a nice variety of bottle including plenty of locals and regional regulars mixed in. Foold is BBQ and higher end bar food, Have 4 apps and all were solid, Wife had a burger and she liked it, They have all their beers on a huge chalk board like it is a tap list. Kind of annoying as I will they would add 30 taps and focus on that as it could truly be a destination as other than Dirty Nellie’s there really isn’t much beerwise in the area. I have had all but 2 of the beers they had their so it will not be a destination to get new ticks. I will be back for the food and enjoy some solid brews given the limited options in the area.

Really nice place with great BBQ and good food. A really good selction of beers with Half Acre, Two Brothers, Grealt lakes and others on tap. Nice selection of bottle as well with Stone, Founders, Dogfish and many others available. Had my first bottle of Founders KBS here. They run daily food and beer specials and the staff is knowlegeable about the beer. Worth a stop to the Burbs. They have entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights and Parents they also book family shows once a month.
