I stopped in to this place on my way back from the airport, having heard that their selection of beer was very good, and wanting to patronize a supporter of high-quality brews. It is relatively non-descript from the outside, sitting at the end of a small, newer strip mall. The inside is dark but not forboding. Glass coolers of craft and European beer line the one side of the place, while tables sit on the other. There is a bar about 50 feet in with a decent selection of better craft stuff. The staff was friendly but unhelpful in the utmost. First, no prices are posted for the bottled beers. The staff has (or claimed to have) no idea what many beers cost, and needed to ring them into the register to tell me. This led to a second, and for me, ultimately fatal issue: price. The prices here are a joke. 22oz bombers going for $7.20 elsewhere are $20 here. I paid $34 for four beers, three of which were 12oz bottles. It’s a shame, because this would otherwise be a great place to visit, when in the area. Sadly, this is an example of gauging people who don’t know the true value of the product.

I’ve visited this place often since it opened. It’s near my office and a great stop for an after work beer. Plenty to choose from and the food is great. More variety than a lot of beer bars.

Tucked away in a vacant strip mall across from Target. This clean, stylish, beer bar. They offer up a huge variety of micro’s and some quality imports. They do a great job keeping you coming back for more with the live entertainment and beer tastings on a regular basis. A little on the small side, maybe they could expand into the vacant strip mall. They seem to have a good business base and might just make it despite the location.

Similar to Barley and Hops in South Hills only much much better. In a little strip mall with outdoor sitting area. Not a ton of bar space but adequate, a little tight at times. Good draught selection and very impressive bottle selection. Food ain’t too shabby.

Tucked away near a hillside and a target in the main commercial area of Robinson, you would probably not find this place unless you were looking for it. Place has a real nice atmosphere. You walk in to a wall of bottle coolers which you can order from or get 6ers to go. Nice brick walls give it that neighborhood bar type feel. Nice wooden bar area with some booths near it and more seating in the back. Place always has 16 beers on draft and they change regularly. My dad had gone here two weeks ago and gave me a copy of the beer menu. Went back with him last night and it was entirely different except for a few. Food specialties also change regularly, are really good, a lot of food, and nicely priced. I got the fried haddock platter and it was 11.99. Also highly suggest trying the homemade hummus. Overall, great place, highly highly reccomended.

Unbelievable look and feel for a place in such a commercial stretch. A little cramped. Every time I come in someone asks if I need help. Nice but small selection, definitely some unique stuff for Pittsburgh: Jolly Pumpkin, Lagunitas, ~all Southern Tier, lot of rare locals and 750s.The prices are unfortunately the biggest problem, easily the highest of the best Pgh spots that I’ve been to, quite brutal in fact. I’ll always come back here to check on stuff, but if I can find it elsewhere, I’m not buying it here.

Prices are steep, especially for bottles to go, even though they do have a good selection, you might have to swallow your pride... I would recommend going for the samples... $1each, which is what most places charge, and they have a nice rotating selection... Never got to try their food, but it did look good...

Located right across from Target, out near the Airport. Kudos to whomever did the interior. They took a sterile generic strip mall space and created a nice cozy beer bar. Brick walls, wood bar area, and even wood veneer on the beer coolers! Draft selection is adequate, but the emphasis seems to be on bottles. What I really like is that I don’t have to look over a beer list or lean over the bar to browse the bottle selection. The coolers are out in the open, and you just grab what you want and take it to the bar....NICE! I do wish they would put price tags on the bottles. I did not eat, but the food looked very good and was very reasonable as far as price. Service was excellent and the owner chatted with us for awhile. This is a great little beer bar, but be prepared for sticker shock. In Pittsburgh, you have to deal with the stupid PA case law pricing, 5 tier system on some breweries, and that 10% bullshit county pour tax. Factor all that into the fact that this is prime retail space (high rent), you are going to pay quite a bit for some brands. For example, Avery Samaels was $21!!! Don’t let that keep you from visiting. . Just check the price before you open a bottle.

My fiance and I had a really great time at Bocktown. Liked the glassware used for draft selections. Food was very well prepared and our waiter was very knowledgable He even came up to the coolers and gave me some suggestions and some of his favorites. Had a delerium noctournal that was fabulous. Had bells expedition stout on tab when we visited and it was spectacular. Can’t wait to go back!

The beer selection here is very impressive. I was thrilled to find that they were carrying New Holland, and enjoyed a few Mad Hatters. I only ate an appetizer which was typical fare, but other customers commented that the food was enjoyable. Wait staff was very knowledegable and was quick to chat about beer!
