Entering through the revolving door you will find a classical Cologne brew pub. Wood, three rooms plus some tables upstairs. Beer is limited to Mühlen Kölsch and seasonal specials from time to time. Service is friendly and quick. Food is ok, nothing special. Beer is definitely within the top three Kölsch. Very busy even in the early afternoon.

Atmospheric place in the centre of Köln. Probably the best Kölsch you can get IMO. Food was OK for good prices. Service as to be expected in the west of Germany: quick and uninterested. Not so many beers to try but I think you should when in Köln.

Great kolsch in a very authentic, welcoming locale. Only two beers on tap but a great experience.

Great Kölsch, very good atmosphere, we had an awesome schwieneshaxe and although we weren’t locals we were never made to feel like that. This place is just off the main square so not as touristy as other Kölsch bars.

One of my favorite kölsches was here. I liked this overall experience especially coming off the bad place on the corner across the way.

Visited September 2012.
We hiked over from the other side of the altstadt (from the cathedral) hitting some bars along the way. This was pretty busy despite being a little south of all the big name touristy spots. Service was good and the patrons were nice. They have a couple of house beers which is more than a lot of the kolsch breweries. We had already tied the Mühlen Kölsch at a previous stop but despite that there were still ticks to be had.

Well they only serve one beer, which is a pretty decent Kolsch, the real draw is the ambiance and food. Lots of oak with pinewood tables, old paintings and knickknacks. Lots of good German food especially the schweiner haxe.

May 2013. This place reminds me of a brown bar like you might find in the low countries, which makes sense considering the location. Wood tables and worn wood paneling. Service was friendly enough. My goulash was loaded with paprika, and hotter than I had elsewhere in Germany. Expensive beer, which I discovered is generally true of all kolsch.. Recommended. Only the one kolsch available today.

Had beers and some food here one afternoon. Service was great. Nice to see a few different offerings besides Kolsch. Prices were reasonable. Not a bad place and not far from the main river walk area.
