| jwbrewing (15), Sparks, Nevada | | February 5, 2011 My favorite beer was the IPA. The food was great and I love the Happy Hour Prices. I would like to see more seasonals. | idahojunkie (2), Idaho does not count - explanation | | November 23, 2010 Nothing exceptional, but it hits the spot on occasion. Tacky in a charming, renoesque way...fake beer running through ducts in the rafters. Crpwd is mixed, and can be a drag. Happy hour is good, music often is not. Silver Peak is a better choice, with better food, beer and service. In fairness, I should disclose that I worked in the Eldo. for a year and even BB on occasion. | | Bif (32), St. Louis, Missouri | | July 22, 2010 This is a great oasis in the middle of the Casino. Walking in you get the impression of a sports bar with a number of large screens. They have about 8-9 beers on tap, a bit of something for everyone. The beers are good but nothing outstanding. The bartenders seem to know the beers quite well. The food menu has a good variety without being too large. Can’t beat the 3-6 happy hour prices with a large beer only $3. Service can be a bit spotty at times. It is fairly quiet in the afternoon but activity and volume ramps up as the evening progresses. | | DYCSoccer17 (244), Woodland, California | | July 5, 2010 I certainly wasnt expecting much from this, so I wasn’t really disappointed. Dimly lit, loud, crowded, and busy. Large and cavernous. I found a place at the bar, and they had about 10 beers with a couple of them being specials. They actually had an IIPA on tap, and the bartender informed me about it partially. The service was good, and I think the prices were arbitrary. It sounded like the bartender made up the price of my pint of IIPA...$3.50. I did not have any food, so I cannot comment much on that. | | 6ROW (40), corpus christi, Texas | | May 11, 2010 this is a brew pub in name only!!!!! the beer is not bad! the brewing area was dirty/ dusty. not worth the time!!!
Go to Great basin or silver peak! | | kmweaver (116), Santa Rosa, California | | September 13, 2009 Ok, ok, ok. Brewpub, garish, in a casino. And yet... This was the fourth stop of our day-long Reno/Sparks beer crawl and, of all the stops, our least-anticipated. Tucked in the overbearing El Dorado Casino, up the steps, past the information desk and the lit fountains, and the escalators, and countless goofball gamblers, is some fantastic beer. We sat at the bar, the waitstaff was attentive (if a little clueless about the beer), and pours were like, $3.50. The Double Down Stout was creamy and focused, the Jilted Lover was a solid Belgian rendition, and the IPA was just phenomenal. Did I visit the same place as everyone else? New brewer? Parallel universe? They also had four other staples and a seasonal, which we’ll be going back to try soon. | | heemer77 (205), Urbandale, Iowa | | July 15, 2008 I stopped in on a weeknight when a band was playing. The place was packed and their were only two bartenders for probably at least 100 customers. I only was able to try a couple of their beers and they were served in plastic cups. The good thing is that each cup was only $2. I am still not sure what was on tap as all I found was a mat, no listings on the wall. I am certain I would have liked this place more if I had been there when it wasn’t so full. | | BuckeyeBoy (85), Boise, Idaho | | September 6, 2007 inside a casino. brews that were on just so so. Place looks pretty cool. Worth the stop in for a few rateings but that is about it. | | 0o9i (10), Reno, Nevada | | April 21, 2006 Live music and a packed place. I think I had to pay for admission, unless accompanied with females--like a club(thank God for females!). Beer was respectable. Not a place to enjoy a quiet beer...at least not at night on a weekend. I live in Reno and I’ve only been there once...in many years. | Cmonirene (7), Marina, California does not count - explanation | | November 26, 2005 cool looking place but not worth the time if you’re in reno. check out silver peak instead. |
