| onceblind (66), Denver, Colorado | | February 21, 2012 This is the only homebrew shop ive ever been to, so Im not sure what to compare it against. But there is a large refrigerator with every kind of pellet hop, as well as a few varieties of whole flower, all kinds of wine, ale, and cheese yeast, at least 40 kinds of malt, and all the equipment you could ever want to start your own nanobrewery. They even sell mini oak barrels. Lots of literture too, as well as any kind of reinheitsgebot breaking additive you can think of. | celticcolorado (1), Centennial, Colorado does not count - explanation | | March 24, 2011 If you live anywhere near Denver, this is the Homebrew Shop for you. Steve and staff are always pleasant and extremely helpful. If for some reason they do not carry a particular product, they will happily order it for you.
I have visited many Homebrew Shops in the area and The Brew Hut staff are by far the nicest.
In addition, the Brew Hut is connected to the Dry Dock which is a wonderful brewery under the same ownership. | harvestsmiles (3), Aurora, Colorado does not count - explanation | | November 7, 2010 This place is certainly above average when it comes to a homebrew supply store. Always plenty of help available for advice. I can see myself frequenting this place quite often. | redeyeloon (1), Colorado does not count - explanation | | December 10, 2009 If you’re a brewer and live in Denver, you need to visit Brew Hut / Dry Dock Brewing. Visitors to Denver should also gather here. Since they moved the brewery/homebrew shop from a small dank grotto to a large open facility in July 2009, business has boomed and the experience has increased tenfold. When I shop for my ingredients, I stop first at the bar to get double-fisted with whatever is freshly brewed on-site. Then, I amble over to the Brew Hut side where I can shop and quaff. Two 25ft. rows of grain bins are set up for easy pulls directly onto digital scales - right next to two self-serve automated grain mills. The hops and yeast chillers always have excellent selection despite the hop shortage. Equipment abounds, but isn’t the cheapest. The Staff is great. They are always ready to help and will chat with you extensively if it’s not too busy. If you get on the mailing list, you can get 10 to 15% discounts for the recipe of the month or other purchases. Ambiance rating would be a 5 if it weren’t so loud in there. Other thoughts, the review from January 2007 is obsolete and should be ignored. | | BeerandBlues2 (358), Lone Tree, Colorado | | January 6, 2007 [ Updated August 14, 2010 ] This shop is attached to Dry Dock Brewing; the front door is Brew Hut and the back door is the brewery. They had a nice selection and amount of malts, yeast and hops. The staff is very knowledgeable and they have a large selection of equipment, not to mention cheese kits. |
