| markwise (124), North of Tampa, Florida | | April 16, 2012 Visited between lunch and dinner on a Friday. Nice ambiance- similar to Big Bear or an upscale brewpub. I immediately felt a bit underdressed, but then looked around and rethought; diverse mix of tourists and locals here. Spoke to brewmaster, Matt, and he was very cool, with a tremendous respect for lagers. He does it and he does it right. Hell of a variety he had on draft. From Boca Blonde, a Munich Helles to an American Stout and a Double IPA, all made in-house, all served from tanks not twenty feet from the bar. Beer was par and above, with the brewer’s rotating taps as the best and most diverse selections. The parking situation is not ideal, but the beer was nice and the food was pretty good. Definitely worth a stop. | | changeup45 (78), Mount Dora, Florida | | October 16, 2011 I was in Boca for an afternoon with not much to do so checked out this place for lunch. Always fun to try a new brewpub, and it looks like this was my only choice.
The place is located in a small but really busy strip mall. They have a lot of parking but finding a spot wasn’t easy, and the way it’s setup is an accident waiting to happen. Inside is rather large, kind of looking like a big chain.
Beforehand I read some reviews and decided to pass on a sampler of year-rounds and try a couple of their seasonals/specials (I did also try the Boca Blonde). The beer wasn’t bad at all... Boca Blonde is a basic Blonde but refreshing enough, the Double Bock which I was told was part of the Reserve Series was decent, and the Pilsner I thought was a good beer and my favorite of the three. They also had a Black IPA on as a special that I didn’t get to try.
The food was good; I had some pretzel steak and cheese thing and based on other reviews, and glancing at the menu, I think it’s safe to say they have some good food choices here. It was maybe a little expensive but not really out of the ordinary.
You won’t get the small brewpub vibe here but I’d recommend it. Good food, some nice beer specials, and lots of seating. They’ve also got an outdoor patio area to enjoy some sun. It really doesn’t take much to get me excited about going to a brewpub and I had a nice time here. | | bmalia (10), Plantation, Florida | | September 24, 2010 I go here for the food a lot more than the beer. The beers are nothing special. | | theisti (273), Leawood, Kansas | | June 9, 2010 [ Updated September 22, 2011 ] Located in a busy strip mall parking lot, this place is nice looking in a very standard middle - to upscale American eatery sort of way. Service was good, though not terribly knowledgeable on the beer. The beer itself was average ordinary brewpub fair. I had the Bruschetta, which was pretty decent. Highlight of the visit was talking World Cup with my waiter, who has Spain for the record. | | NYbeer (11), | | April 1, 2009 Very chain like atmosphere at Brewzzi’s. Service is pretty decent. Every beer that I have had here ranged from awful to average. Food is pretty good and the portions are sizeable. Overall, the food is far superior to the beer quality which is not a good thing for a brewpub. | | Ibrew2or3 (248), Phoenix, Arizona | | March 16, 2009 Visited 10/08 time frame. Nice looking place. They have a wonderful looking “show piece” system that’s about 15bbl. Seem like a yeck of a lot of beer just to support this one brew pub. Beer is typical pre CCB uninspired Florida craft beer. There seems to be effort here but somehow nothing really well crafted or even above average seems to get brewed. Some of beer seems to be of the “Cookie Cutter” while others just plain miss. The food is good though. | | hopscotch (187), Vero Beach , Florida | | November 18, 2008 The place stands alone in front of a small strip mall. Plenty of free parking. The atmosphere is cozy and warm. More of a restaurant than the West Palm Beach location. The service was good. The food pulls up just short of excellent. The staff doesn’t seem all that knowledgeable regarding their beer. It’s definitely more food-centered than West Palm. Pricing is on the high side of moderate. The beer is sub par most of the time, but their seasonals and special one-offs are sometimes very nice and creative. Definitely worth a visit. | | Oakes (593), Gibsons, British Columbia | | June 21, 2008 Strip mall vibe is pure Boca goodness. Don’t remember eating but we might have. Service was a bit sketchy. The seasonals weren’t bad but the house beers are weak. Not my favourite brewpub in South Florida. | | daknole (204), Scottsdale, Arizona | | May 5, 2008 Loud and crowded this place has some decent beer but it is a pain to get a table and the service lacks...however it does have home brewed beer. A rarity in FL. | | Beershine (540), The Sunshine State, Florida | | April 1, 2008 Average brewpub in the suburban hell of the Rat’s Ass. Idiot servers, mediocre beer, and still it’s worth driving to because there are so few brewpubs in South Florida. Extra points for a relatively interesting lineup that includes seasonals. |
