A bit of a strange one, the German Club is part beer bar, part pokies palace, part German restaurant and part cultural institution. So far as the beer goes, the selection of German beers is good - probably unrivaled in Brisbane I would say. The vibe is a bit weird, but the food is good (typically hearty German fare) with the pork knuckle a stand-out. Not exactly a magnet for beer connoisseurs a la The Scratch, but a good place for a decent feed and some quality German brews.

With not being a fan German beers not my cup of tea. For what they are, they do well and others love it. Clean, crisp, flavorless beer is not for me....sorry.

A good calling place after the cricket and German beers my favourite it was a pleasure to drink a pilseners or dark weiss ales and enjoy some of the good glassware they had to use help start me off on my rate beer trek great place to take it easy.

Better selection than the platform bar, even if it is only German beer. Kind of like an RSL with better beer and probably food. Laid back and a good place to sink a few. Thanks for the into Nate.

Some good beers can be found here on tap and a decent range of bottled beers that are all kept well. Definitely worth checking out when in Brisbane.

One of the best beer venues in Brisbane, located opposite the Gabba Cricket Ground. The club is in an old hall circa 1950’s which knocks the ambiance around a bit, but the food and beer make up for it. Typical good solid German tucker that is reasonably priced and a great range of bottled stock at good prices. Any place that has a hefe and schwarz on tap is ok by me, pity isn’t not in the CDB so it’d be easier for me to get too. Now has growler refills, happy days
