I went there on a Saturday for lunch. The place is huge and well located. Ambiance... we were alone in the pub but it’s normal for early on Saturday. Service was A1, but we were with one of the brewer. Decent selection, most of the taps are of their products. My sandwich was pretty good and price are decent. Nice place.

Very large bar in Shawinigan. Very popular also, this place attracts all sorts of crowds. There are three stories and in the evening at least two of those stories turn into an outright night club with all the usual underage teens coming out for the night. During the day it has more of a pub feel, although there is often quite a few people. The patio is nice and is heated. The beers are OK, not the same caliber as Trou du Diable but still fine and if you are in Shawinigan it is worth a visit. They have some pub food as well which is decent. Staff is generally not very knowledgeable about beer except maybe one or two of the bartenders.

Right down the street from the host rink for the memorial cup. 10 beers on taps we tried 4, decent bock brewed for the cup, a Belgian blond, ok ish ipa, a dunkelwiezen. Ambitous group of beers they are trying to brew (black ipa). Not always hitting the mark. Nice interior and a good place to have a few pints before a game. The folks of Shawinigan are very welcoming to those if us coming in to town hoping to beat the home team.

This is a sport bar don’t expect anything spectacular there but the beers. Everything tasted was well made and according to the style. Close to Le trou du Diable.

The building is very old mst have been a tavern before. The service was good the food is your typical pub fare. They are realy just starting to make their own beer I beleive in time it will get better.

A very large pub with a certain historical value for the small Shawinigan city. The owner has possessed the place for 13 years and made the switch to home beers only a year ago after having slowly developed its range of micro draught offerings. It still feels like a mixed bag with a section that feels more like a sports bar while the others feel cosier, but is used as a dance floor when opened, from thursday to saturday. The service was friendly, but certainly not very knowledgeable. If the owner or brewer are in and see you taking notes though, they will most likely come and have a chat. They both are nice fellows and working on some improvements and goodies for the future. On to look for as it’s only been brewing for a year and looks at increasing the pumps of home products to 12.

Now this is not your typical brewpub setting. Half the building, open all week, is a tired sports bar with carpets, pool tables and disparate stools and plastic chairs. Not all that inviting, if you don’t mind my saying. It used to be split up into two sides (this sports bar side and the dance lounge on the other side), but now their beers are available on both sides equally. They also recently cancelled their contract with Labatt, so most of their lines are serving their own beers (up to 13 last time I was there). The quality of the beers is solid throughout with their Mary Poppins Imperial Brown Ale and Elixir de Belphegor barrel-aged series being standouts. The session beers are okay, but none of them have stood out to my tastebuds so far. Service here can be spotty, but the last visit we got a wonder-waitress that did everything right. The pub food is inexpensive and quite good. The pizzas are particularly tasty and portions are more than reasonable for the price.
