Damn this building is cool. On the inside the selection is pretty typical of a brewery. Slightly disappointing there isn’t anything more special on draft than what they bottle and distribute, because everything we tried was really great. There is an enormous beer garden out front. Lots of people on beer tour mixed with lots of locals enjoying an afternoon brew.

Easily one of the better value experience places in Amsterdam. The food looked great when I was there and it was very refreshing to see a fully-stocked micro brewery with their own beers for sale. I had not eaten there so I can not score their food but the snacks flowing fast from the kitchen looked well prepared and not over done. . I really respect a microbrewery which sets up to offer a diverse range of beers and one which has strong ethical commitments. This place is outstanding for how it contributes to society and the local beer scene. I just wish there was more choice for craft guest and it was very noisy whilst I was there. It was a great example of a hustling community brewpub. .

http://www.ratebeer.com/Place/empty/amsterdam/brouwerij-t-ij/200.htm A classic place you cannot miss if in Amsterdam. A little off-center but not so far that it cannot be walked from the Amsterdam center. One thing really cool about this pub is showing up there at 2:55pm on a week-end 5 minutes before it opens. Nobody there. And by 15:10 there wasn’t a single place to sit anymore despite the large patio that sits over 100 people. They had 5 taps of housebeers while I was there as well as 2 bottles. Minimal beer-related decoration. Food is small snacks only and they were cheese, cold sausages and boiled eggs (or something like that). I cannot say I was impressed by the beers. Like many Dutch beers, they were all very yeasty and the beers were mostly a yeast soup with some variants, not exactly to style. Still, this was a fun few hours and a must visit in Amsterdam.

Buen ambiente en Amsterdam. El mejor lugar para probar sus cervezas.

Small, charmingly grungy tasting room with limited seating, especially in the evenings when it gets quite crowded, no doubt because of the early closing time. The beers are poured in appropriately small servings, a sample tray of all 6 beers on tap for about 7 Euros is also available. Service is very friendly and attentive. The beer quality is a bit average, but this place is a nice alternative if you ever get tired of the big three.

My son moved to an appartment just around the corner - lucky me. Popped in to have a peek and buy some beers, no time to sit doen. Pretty crowded and I kove the beer bottles stacked all over, want to count them one day. Service was very helpful and of course wanted me to have a beer from tap, helas, no time. Looked pretty cool to me. They have their own beers, that’s it, but that is enough.

On the outskirts of town, but a nice bar/brewpub with tons of outside seating available as well as some spots inside. RIght near the water, so there’s a nice view. Staff was a bit short with us, but not terrible. Beers were alright, nothing special. Don’t really need to go back here again, though.

Little out o way, but an easy bus ride... very basic layout ... stone floors... wooden benches ... friendly enough ... and beers were pretty good... all round nice place and worth a visit

Nothing wrong with this as a brewery tap, I just don’t happen to rate the beers very highly.

You can’t miss this place because there’s a big windmill on top of the brewery. Came here on a Thursday and Friday night and the tables outside were very busy and a good atmosphere. Beers are of the cloudy, strong Belgian yeasty variety and pretty damn good. Inside they also have some lagers and macro beers so I’d recommend sticking to the brewpub beers. Waitress service outside and the staff inside we chatty and helpful. Snacks and food are also good and you can get a 5 pack of the beers to take home afterwards. Some of the best beers I had in Amsterdam.
