| cratez (100), London, Ontario | | March 4, 2012 Visited after Cask Days 2011. Inside sports a comfortable, relaxed, and dimly lit ambience with a couple games on the flatscreens. Mixed crowd minds their own. I ordered the lamb special and a pint of Great Lakes Canucklehead on cask, both of which were tasty and well-priced. Service was efficient as everything arrived in reasonable time. The beer selection is very good, though some of the taps (pale lagers, cream ales, etc) are a little pedestrian. Still, they get several rare GLB offerings. Overall, Bryden’s is one of the better options in the west end, and it’s particularly worthwhile if you’re staying at the airport (15 minutes away). A cool spot that I’ll happily return to when I’m off the beaten path. | | garthicus (45), Toronto, Ontario | | July 29, 2011 Great place, right across the street from Jane subway station. Good food, good food prices, great beer, rotating selection, always a cask on. Cheap and cheerful. Great spot. I love it. | thelynchfella (4), Dublin, Ireland does not count - explanation | | July 28, 2011 My local boozer!! Small enough bar with 16 taps (4 or 5 of which rotate), and a cask. Small paitio out front too. Always a treat when I go, due to the rotating selection they have on tap. Bottled selection is a bit of a let down though. Great staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. The food is good value for money too! | | mabel (211), Toronto, Ontario | | July 26, 2011 2011. Visited on several occasions throughout this past year, though notably at the start of the pub crawl during Ontario Craft Beer Week. It’s a small bar but they pack in a mix-up of chairs and couches and everything in between. They serve a delicious pear-cheese quesadilla and other good appetizers, often for just a few dollars before 5pm in the week. The owner is hilarious and quite knowledgeable about beer, sharing his stories with patrons and friends alike at the bar. The beer selection itself is all good local stuff and in great condition. (We happily re-visited several times during the OCBW to get all the new casks that came out every day.) Would love it if this were my local but sadly have to put up with a commute. Great place to visit if you’re in the area. (4/10/11/10/9/13) 76% | | jerc (211), Toronto, Ontario | | March 25, 2011 Been a handful of times now. It is a smallish spot with some character but comfortable. Decent selection of local micros and casks on. Typically at least one good Great Lakes brew on. Staff is friendly. Bit out of the way for me but probably the best spot in this part of town to get a decent beer selection. Have only tried appetizers, which were good. I have not eaten an actual meal here yet. | | Sammy (408), Toronto, Ontario | | November 3, 2010 Surprised I am the first to review this place. West end, Bloor and Jane. Parking on street meters. Smallish place, they make good use of the space. Also a small patio. Its new and the best is they always try to have at least one cask on, tonight Muskoka harvest, not a bad choice. At least fourteen taps on, the majority being craft choices including a feature craft. Too small to be a star place, but enough heart to be a rising star. Several bottles, Sleemans and the like in a cooler, and improvements can start there. Pints were as pricey as downtown. The scene was young and noisy, loud without earsplitting music.
