The original craft beer pub but one iíve never felt entirely at home in, even with the removal of the communal tables. Probably the sports screens and big groups. Good enough selection of beers at slightly higher prices both on tap and bottle. A few casks again here. The food however is very good, especially if you like beef. Staff not always aware what beers are on (especially downstairs) so take a look at the taps yourself. They do get a good range of seasonals in however.

Located conveniently close to the Temple Bar area of Dublin, just in front of the Christ Church Cathedral. This place has a sleek modern feel to it, both in the downstairs stakehouse and the upstairs bar. Away from the Temple Bar crowds you can have a decent pint in a quitter environment here. No live music, decent selection of ~10 craft regulars and 6-7 rotating specials. Nothing crazy but good Irish micro representation. Prices in line with the area, did not try the food. I think Iíd be back more for the stakes or the Irish whisky tasting tray than for the beer alone.

Beautiful restaurant with a trendy beer hall upstairs, which was packed on a Friday night. Iíve rarely had a better steak, and the service in the restaurant was impeccable and personal. The vibe in the upstairs was rather cold and unwelcoming. I had one beer and left.

Situated opposite Christ Church Cathedral, quite close to Leo Burdock fish and chips shop (the location on the map is wrong), the place is very nicely decorated but also too sleek and souless, the service professional but indifferent, the beer list, at the upstairs beer hall is quite superb. Iím not sure if i really like this place.

This is a funny place, not sure how to rate it fairly actually. Exterior and interior dťcor are absolutely fantastic, classy, comfortable, charming, canít say enough about the look of it. The food menu is equally wonderful, had a 10oz ribeye with chips and was cooked perfectly, the rest of the group had different mains and they all loved them. Hereís where this place gets weird, the waiters were from Eastern Europe and couldnít care less about beer, whatís on draft, whatís in the cooler, and whatís worse is they got annoyed with me for asking, like I should just order a Guinness and be happy about it. Beer hall is being renovated, so Iíll have to come back to see that when its done. Overall this is a wonderful place that I will definitely be back to, but Iíll talk directly to the barman first.

Not a bad place. Nice selection of draft and bottles, mostly Irish, English and Belgian. Nothing rare. Knowledgable staff. Good food.

Go up the stairs to the beerhall. Lot of taps with the regular Irish ones and lot of Irish Craft beers. Also a fridge of (Northern) Irish beers and other countries.

Across the street from Christchurch, we ate at the Steakhouse since the Beer Hall was not open yet. Very quaint location with the same beer selections available. The service and food were both outstanding. 14 taps of craft beer and 1 cask selection of small breweries around Ireland. Tasters were available and the price was reasonable. Iíd like to go back.

I come here a lot, so thought itís only right that I give it an update!
As the Irish beer scene improves, so does this place. The B&C has always been a real champion of Irish craft brewing with a permanent base of ten or so taps, alongside 4 or 5 rotation taps, and one cask pump. The recent surge of productivity of Irish brewers and new operations opening has meant that thereís always plenty of interesting (and often one-off) local stuff here.
Downstairs is a cosy restaurant with good quality locally sourced food (meat comes from the renowned butcher, FX Buckley), upstairs is a Bavarian-style beer hall with benches and long oak tables - always a good atmosphere.
Staff are all a good laugh and service is always quick.
As I said, the emphasis is on Irish craft beer, but they occasionally have an import or two on rotation - usually either from Sierra Nevada or a Belgian brewery, so thereís a decent choice. Decent enough bottle list with a mix of British, Belgian, and American stuff alongside a good few German weizens. Nothing too crazy-exciting though - prices are average for Dublin.
Good atmosphere on rugby match days in particular, as they have a big projector screen in the beerhall - always pulls in a huge crowd.
A Dublin beer institution - well worth a look.
