| Sammy (408), Toronto, Ontario | | December 5, 2011 Large liquor place with several aisles and coolers of beer. Good for getting a complete selection available in New Jersey. Some single beottles, but they are fairly gracious about others. Almost no service, the people do not know the beers. The cashiers cash you out and you do all the shlepping to the counter, the guy would not even pull the bottles out to scan from the box. Prices in line with other places. I liked the complete lines of places from Flying fish, etc. so I can finally get that IPA, etc.
Overrated place.
| | Boutip (49), Gatineau, Quebec | | November 17, 2011 This a large liquor store conveniently located close to the Holland Tunnel in Jersey City. Parking is ample and the store is actually a huge warehouse. The selection is extremely good with beer classified by country of origins. There is also a huge amount of singles to buy as well as some six packs. Service is good if required though everything is on the shelves. Prices are good for most of the selection except for the imports (and the Bruery beers) but I am sure this is reflective of the price points in most liquor store across the country. Definitely a place that I would recommend if you ever pass by Jersey City. | | Niko100 (10), New York | | September 5, 2011 Large store with a pretty good selection of brews. No real rarities - but I generally find what I’m looking for. They do sell single bottles as well. One of the better stores I have found in NJ. | | dmac (32), Toms River, New Jersey | | February 26, 2011 This place is HUGE. If it’s available in NJ the you will most likely be able to find it here. NJ is a bit weird with certain beers only being distributed to certain areas of the state. I found some breweries here, Tommyknocker...Defiant...Firestone Walker, that I have never seen in Monmouth/Ocean county. A huge singles section allows for some serious ticking without constantly having to buy the whole six pack. On a donw side though I found their prices on the high side for how big of a store it is and the buying power they obviously have. Most singles were over $2 a pop with lots around $3 even for some ordinary beers. I just picked up a magnum of Mikkeller Red White Christmas from my local go to "small" store for $27.99 yet Buy Rite wanted $30.99 for it. I noticed some other over priced beers but can’t think of another solid example. If your willing to pay a few dollars more there is no reason to go anywhere else. | | claspada (10), Hoboken, New Jersey | | August 10, 2010 Couldn’t ask for anything better. 10% off any mixed 12 bottles of beer (12 oz, 22 oz, 500 ml, 750 ml, etc). Staff is knowledgeable (not the cashiers but the guys walking around the beer area/cooler). Will help you look for anything and usually know everything in stock. | | ben4321 (117), Hoboken, New Jersey | | June 15, 2010 Actually pretty impressed by this place. Huge place, with a good selection of beer to go with tons of wine and liquor. I walked out with quite the nice collection of beers for a pretty reasonable price. They sold lots of singles both cold and warm. The best store I’ve been to so far in NJ since moving here. The check-out line took forever, but the prices were reasonably solid.
| | TheEpeeist (17), Swarthmore, Pennsylvania | | June 14, 2010 [ Updated July 15, 2011 ] Huge domestic selection, about the same as Oak Tree, but they seem to have fewer imports. Easy access to a big clean warehouse. Lots of singles but of course the only beer i wanted was sixer only. Thought they might break one up for me and put the others on the shelf but apparently their policy is very strict. | | michael-pollack (100), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania | | April 3, 2010 Wharehouse ambiance. Slow service at check-out. Pretty good selection. No food. Decent prices. | | Chalsk (39), North Caldwell, New Jersey | | April 1, 2010 [ Updated April 15, 2010 ] This place has a pretty awesome supply. I still have to go with Oak Tree as the top spot. But this place is up there, along with Bev Depot. | | Dfonorow (37), Hoboken, New Jersey | | February 17, 2010 [ Updated May 16, 2011 ] Have a ton of singles so you don’t have to buy full six packs of some of the more expensive beer. Huge selection of hard to finds as well, the place is pretty bare bones appearance/ambiance wise but the selection and the service makes me return. |
