| BlackDonald (58), North Carolina | | July 31, 2008 My favorite place in town to get a drink and hang out. Its not very tourist and its off the beaten path. This is the place for beer lovers who want to drink a beer surrounded by other people who love craft brewing. They always have the seasonals before anyone else and they serve in the proper glassware. | keith_f (1), , Alaska does not count | | July 10, 2008 When I lived in Anchorage I was a regular here. For the beer lover there’s really no better place in town. Ken (the owner) was the master brewer at the first microbrewery in Alaska, and is extremely knowledgeable. Will was voted best bartender in the Pacific Northwest. The rest of the staff is also extremely knowledgeable. Taps rotate, but there is typically something for whatever you might crave, locals and Belgians alike. Bottle selection is extensive. The bar area is quite pleasant, and the clientèle typically quite friendly. For me, this is the beer bar against which others are judged. All around it’s a good place to be, and I wish I were there now. | McD (2), does not count | | December 25, 2007 Hard to believe this place is in a strip mall. | JRBowie (4), Anchorage, Alaska does not count | | March 10, 2007 Great cafe in anchorage the best selection of wierd beer probaly in town. Check it out. | | Braudog (441), Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates | | July 17, 2005 [ Updated May 4, 2007 ] July 2005: This is the hidden gem of Alaska for beer nerds. This little restaurant in a strip mall in Anchorange has a stellar list of beers ... 16 regional and imports on tap, plus a gargantuan list of bottles, with mostly Belgian and quality European selections. The staff knows their stuff, too, and every selection was poured with skill and in the right glass (usually with the actual brewers logo). Verrrrry cool place. |
